Bio
The Buzzsonic (then known as the Fruit Eating Bears) were formed in the UK in the late 80s and made something of a nuisance of themselves gigging around Northern UK hotspots like Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield, Barnsley and surrounding towns. A member of 70s rock band, Lindisfarne saw the band play once at Scarboroughs Stagedoor venue on Englands Northeast coast and declared them the "worst live act in living history". If you question the band about the gig, none will remember even playing in Scarborough..... At one stage the band 'threatened' to be 'Big in Sheffield' and Jarvis Cocker of Pulp was seen shimmying to the band at a gig in the city..... Gigging highlight has been supporting the Divine Comedy at London's legendary Bull and Gate alternative rock venue though we found out after the gig that the A&R guy from Phonogram hadn't turned up. No matter, Gary Crowley and Steve Lamacq (now at BBC Radio 1) liked them and were playing 'I'm Falling' on their 'Demo Clash' radio show..... The band havn't actually gigged for years now and had to ditch the Fruit Eating Bears moniker after a band with the same name were discovered dating back to the days of 70s punk..... The band have dodged easy categorizations for ever with a wide range of sub-conscious influences which include a lot of old UK punk bands like the Buzzcocks, Banshees, Pistols etc, and some UK goth stuff like the Mission and the Cult. So, some 70s punk, 80s goth, 'Madchester baggy' and modern alternative rock stuff if you like. Include the Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen and Joy Divison as some of the other names that have been mentioned in passing too, mainly due to the vocal style more than anything..... ............ Someone once called the band a lethal cross between the Happy Mondays and the Jam, someone else called us "South Yorkshires Finest Neo-hedonists". Neither of these people were music journalists..... There's renewed interest in the band this year with an appearance on an indie film soundtrack. 'Remember' appears briefly in a scene in the low budget movie, 'Behind the Scenes of Total Hell' which is set to be premiered in London in April 2008 before it is released on DVD alongside a soundtrack CD compilation of the bands featured on the films soundtrack..... The four tracks here on the MySpace profile will finally see the light of day worldwide as an EP, 'Uptempo Tantrum' which is available via iTunes and Napster, Rhapsody and eMusic worldwide. -

Hi Ade
We only had the name as Kenny our original drummer was one of the two drummers with the merseybeat
Fruit Eating Bears, when they backed The Merseys. Whe he left us we just kept the name. We would call it recycling now!

Gigging highlight has been supporting the Divine Comedy at London’s legendary Bull and Gate alternative rock venue though we found out after the gig that the A&R guy from Phonogram hadn’t turned up. No matter, Gary Crowley and Steve Lamacq (now at BBC Radio 1) liked them and were playing ’I’m Falling’ on their ’Demo Clash’ radio show.
The band havn’t actually gigged for years now and had to ditch the Fruit Eating Bears moniker after a band with the same name were discovered dating back to the days of 70s punk.
The band have dodged easy categorizations for ever with a wide range of sub-conscious influences which include a lot of old UK punk bands like the Buzzcocks, Banshees, Pistols etc, and some UK goth stuff like the Mission and the Cult. So, some 70s punk, 80s goth, ’Madchester baggy’ and modern alternative rock stuff if you like. Include the Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen and Joy Divison as some of the other names that have been mentioned in passing too, mainly due to the vocal style more than anything.

Someone once called the band a lethal cross between the Happy Mondays and the Jam, someone else called us "South Yorkshires Finest Neo-hedonists". Neither of these people were music journalists.
There’s renewed interest in the band this year with an appearance on an indie film soundtrack. ’Remember’ appears briefly in a scene in the low budget movie, ’Behind the Scenes of Total Hell’ which is set to be premiered in London in April 2008 before it is released on DVD alongside a soundtrack CD compilation of the bands featured on the films soundtrack.
The four tracks here on the MySpace profile will finally see the light of day worldwide as an EP, ’Uptempo Tantrum’ which will be available via iTunes and Napster, Rhapsody and eMusic worldwide probably around early May time.
There is set to be some totally new material from the band this year with an album with the working title, ’We Hate Retro & We Hate the Future’. Keep it locked!
