About me:
Maybe you are wondering, "Who the hell is this guy? Why does he want to be my friend?" It would be great to be everyone's friend, like Tom. I assume that once Tom reaches a trillion friends, he will take over as ruler of the universe.
But since Tom already has dibs on that, I'm trying to keep my friends to a managable count. Here are the reasons I requested to be on your list:
- I know you.
- I found you in a book/author search.
- I have a book signing/event in your area, and now you have a chance to receive a free book.
- I randomly clicked on your name/picture.
Most likely I selected you because of either choice two or three. I just recently wrote a book about crazy people .., Internet privacy, bingo, romance and Richard Simmons. I also reference a lot of pop culture (from '80s music to recent fads to the future of the Internet), and there's a comparison to Orwell's "1984" as well. My writing style is somewhere between Chuck Palahniuk ("Fight Club," "Choke"), Douglas Coupland "microserfs"), David Sedaris ("Me Talk Pretty One Day"), Neal Stephenson ("Snow Crash") and "Seinfield."
Now, I suppose you want to know how to get a free book, right? Well, that's pretty easy. All you have to do is add me as a friend, show up for one of my book signings (the schedule is listed below) and mention MySpace. If you're one of the first two people who do this, I'll give you an early copy of "The Developers." Pretty simple, huh?
Find out more info at thedevelopersbook.com and order it from Amazon.com. Also check out my website at benwoods.com.

I will be appearing at the following locations in the near future. If you want to check out the book, feel free to stop by, take a look and ask questions. I won't hound you like your mom does to eat vegetables (I've noticed other authors doing that, and it's generally pretty scary.).
