The Bye Bye Blackbirds are a harmony drenched band of songwriting fanatics who marry their love of classic 60's pop with the moody jangle of 80's New Zealand, 70's countrypolitan and the intelligent, inspired gems of any era.
Our debut ep, "Honeymoon", produced by Beulah's Bill Swan, was released in 2006 and is available from CDBaby.com and iTunes. It features seven songs ranging from the atmospheric "How I Knew It Wasn't Love" to the Byrds-meet-Chills pop of "In Every Season". Special guests include members of Oranger, Beulah, Game Theory/Loud Family and pedal steel genius Joe Goldmark.Amplifiermagazine.com said: "The Bye Bye Blackbirds have made a record for the ages."
Our new album, Houses & Homes, will be released on the American Dust label in September 2008. Recorded at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco and New, Improved Recording in Oakland, Houses & Homes is a showcase for the marriage of intricate harmonies with intelligent songcraft and eclectic, inventive production. Its nine songs cover a wide range from moody acoustic folk (the Ian Robertson sung "Shed The Skin") to country-tinged power pop ("The Ghosts Are Alright"). Lyrically rich and melodically inspired, Houses & Homes is a mature, fully realized statement of artistic arrival.
In advance of the album release, American Dust will also be making a new digital e.p. available for free download. The Apology Accepted e.p. features our cover of The Go-Betweens' classic, a song written for last year's Jonathan Lethem reading (with lyrics from his novel You Don't Love Me Yet) and two acoustic demos.

The Sales Bros. Blast Off - Our first foray into Soul is one of the best albums of its kind that I have ever heard. Hunt & Tony Sales toured the world with David Bowie and Iggy Pop as Tin Machine. This is their first solo album. The tracks were recorded in an empty swimming pool 28 years ago, but they sound as clear and pristine as if they were recorded yesterday. It is an experience like you have rarely lived it. You have to listen to it. It's absolutely fabulous. New Releases
The first 100 listeners who order the CD from the Web store will get the CD signed by Hunt & Tony Sales.
