The band, By Faith, originated around '97 in southern California, birthed from an inspiration from the Lord given to both Dave and Chris Duncan for them to combine their talents and start a new musical project that was unlike the ones of the past.
The duet became a group when they were joined by friends and fellow church-goers who served on the worship team with Dave and Chris at Christian Assembly Foursquare Church. It was with this group that they completed the recording of their first album "Waiting" in 2000.
They played in and around Los Angeles in support of the record as well as received regional and national airplay with the song "Follow the Leader", a tune originally inspired by the kids at C.A. church.
The band continued to play into the 2000's, now featuring friends and members from Montrose Church's worship team, and they found a bit of a home gig performing regularly at the Dream Center's "Hope for Homeless Youth" Coffee House.
No, it wasn't the Coliseum or the Spectrum or Madison Square Garden but it was a place for inspired music, preaching, teaching and loving shown to the unloved to ignite a life-change.
The band felt totally empty yet fulfilled after every HFHY performance.
Life is truly sometimes about change and that change came for By Faith in 2004 when Dave and Chris were led to pack up and leave sunny SoCal for the 4-season-experience of the mid-Atlantic U.S. and pursue a then-unknown but promised adventure in music ministry. The "band" is again sometimes a duet, but they're occasionally backed up by some great new friends that they've made and they continue to record and play at new venues in the DE/MD/PA area.
They've released a 6-song EP CD titled "Gentle Whisper" and a couple of the songs on it can be heard on this site.

Gentle Whisper is awesome. Christine sounds fantastic as usual. So Dave, what is up with the new EP? Did I miss something? I will have to break out the wallet.
I miss talking to you. We have all beeen so busy with life, but I love my frienship with you and Dave and want you to know I pray and think of you both each day. We sometimes don't have the quality time I would like to give, but know you are both so very special to me! You rock my socks off at church. I still gotta remember not to "worship the music" but worship the Lord. You guys are so good, and so is God. Your love for the Lord reflects in the music you present to us each Sunday. God has given the great gifts to you both to present worship for us all. Love it!
Saw Sarah Kelly in Green Bay last Friday - can she ROCK!!! Bummer we couldn't get out to see ya this year. God bless you and never stop believing. Have a great Summer!
Dave
