About me:
We have decided to finally give ByteForums.com a MySpace! Yes, you might be wondering “its been here for ages (or maybe not)”. Yeah, it’s new to me too, I must have forgotten that we created one just when the Forums were starting up!
Anyway, I’ll spare the History lesson until later in this. Join this great community which really does give a unique feel towards Forums as we all try our best into making these Forums stand out from the crowd! ByteForums Desktop and ByteForums Junkie (new to our armada of ‘uniqueness’) both allow desktop interaction with the Forums so hopefully you, our guest, maybe member, will feel more involved!
We proudly specialize in Malware/spyware removal, Gaming and Programming but are open to pretty much anything. A nice little mix :P. !
ByteForums Desktop (BFD) !
This new piece of software (downloadable from the Forums), provides real-time alerts towards new topics/posts, users online and quick links which will probably become useful to you. More importantly, NO SPYWARE GUARANTEED. !
ByteForums Junkie (BFJ) !
Another addition, slightly smaller but gives a new unique competitive side towards Forums ;D. Basically, this app automatically uploads your system uptime (nothing else, don’t worry) where it will be viewable along side with your username forever! In other words; find out who really is the geekiest person around (or the one who never seems to turn off their PC). !
History:
Yes, right now we are not very old. But times change and our staff (including me) are likely to forget about interesting parts within the first few months). !
Seems like years now, but it all started from 2 small webmasters/freelancers/whatever wanting to introduce a stable and entertaining community website which is actually different to the millions of other Forums which fail within the 1st few weeks. Birdie and Goughy were these two guys but as many other people know, this really isn’t easy! !
The name was the 1st problem. What would you call a Forum where almost every domain name has already been taken! Our main idea was ‘Byte my Sheep’ giving a funny genre and potentially funny logo. Damn mass domain parking. ANYWAY, then we thought of another idea related to it (all in the space of one school lesson. Who studies for exams anyway). This was ByteForums and that pretty much stuck from there. !
Design. Who would create a professional template for our Forums to really make it stand out? Yes you might know. Clarkii. We asked him to create it and from what I remember, we were a … little brief… on the descriptions but everything turned out great! From then on, he decided that he wanted to help us out on the starting of our community site so he was happily assigned as our Super Moderator. !
We opened the site. Members for some reason started to signup and participate with very little advertisements at the time. It was great (except for our bandwidth)! We kept customizing the site with our own additions such as a shoutbox, referral system to help introduce more people and everything has turned out great. Now, we just aim to bring in more members into our community. The site is very active though even with around 100 members of which 50 statistically are posting! !
