Byte Me! will be a festival of screenings, live AV-electronica gigs and innovative cross-media events.
It will be in Perth, Western Australia in the first week of December 2007.
It will feature events by a number of community-based organisations involved in the creative technology industries. A geekfest, if you will - although for a mainstream audience. We're aiming to help create the geeks of tomorrow :)
Festival Director is Kat Black and Tech Director is Jasper Cook, both from VJzoo.
Who I'd like to meet:
Visit our website Byteme.net.au for full details of the Festival. Events so far include:
Vintage AV Party - featuring Fairlight CVI's, 1980's Casio keyboards, Commodore 64's etc
Plug n Play VJ/AV jam night including VJs from Singapore, France, Sydney, Perth
The Interface - a free, interactive space with demonstrations, free mobile phone content, games by local developers etc
International and Aussie Guest Speakers - film makers, VJs, TV producers, animators, game, mobile phone and other digital content developers.

In case you or anyone you know might be interested, we've just uploaded the manual from our Painting With Light workshops. Basically it's a 30 page introduction manual to PC-based VJing using Resolume and covers making loops and other basic, introductory VJing issues. You can download it free for personal use.
Also, we've uploaded a few more sets of free VJ Loops. They're all fairly dull, abstract, textural elements to use with other things - but hey, they're free and formatted ready for VJ-use.
