B.Z aka Bizzle age:25 MC/DJ/PRODUCER, based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
B.Z is a young up and coming M.C originaly from London but now based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
My first experience of DnB, Jungle was back in 93-94, while i was bunking off school at my freinds house, at his house he put on these tapes from A.W.O.L a dnb night in london, heard a tape from DJ Randall n MC G.Q, never heard anything like this before and instantly i was hooked, loved the pure energy and vibe from the music, especially the ragga influence from tunes like congo natty etc.
After A while of being so into the music, going out raving every weekend, i decided i wanted to get into the music and do something. so i got a pair of decks and learned to mix.
Moved to Motherwell, Scotland in 2003 and got a DJ residency on a new internet radio station called kunninmindz.com, Played on the station for couple years which was nominated for Best internet radio station,website n Forum @ Accelerated Culture awards.
hooked up with my good freind GT, who came through to do the show with me and he spotted me Mcing on the show for a laugh. but said i was pretty good at it and maybe i should start gettin into it. I Attended my first dnb night in scotland With GT at a Night called Manga, Simon Bassline Smith was playing and my mates introduced me to a guy called A.J (BIG UP BRUV) who was the resident mc at that nite. he bundeled me on stage and said you can spit for 10 mins, but the guy must of liked me cause he left me on stage all nite with him.
After that i started getting loads of bookings in edinburgh at different nights such as Obscene, Jungle Magik, A.D.K, which eventually lead to being residents at these nights
i was through edinburgh all the time so i moved here in 2004. and got hooked up with a residency at Manga which was scotlands best nite up here at the time. i was taken under the wing by MC SONNY (R.I.P) who was the main MC at manga. got some good sound advice from the guy and watched him and learned off him what he done on stage to help me improve as an mc.
After about a year of mcing i met up with Simon, who had started a nite called XPLICIT, we quickly bacame very good freinds and he asked me to come and MC for his night, with alot of hard work simon and his team of residents E.N.O,SKYE,TONN PIPER,BZ has made XPLICIT scotlands no 1 drum and bass nite. Since then things have gone from strength to strength,
i have made apperences on BBC radio 1 and BBC 1XTRA @ Xplicit XTRA BASS TOUR, I have played with DJ's Such as:
Roni Size,Goldie, Andy C, Dj Hype, Dj Zinc, Sappo, Simon Bassline Smith, J-Majik, Randall, Mickey Finn, Aphrodite, Nicky Blackmarket, John B, Baron, Bad Company, Fresh, Adam F, Ed Rush & Opticle, Keaton, Pendulum, Hazard, Friction, Raiden, Logistics, Nu Tone, Sub-Focus, Dj SS, Chase & Status, Grooverider, Fabio, Bailey, Drumsound, Shy FX, Gridlock, Fierce, Profisy, E.N.O, The General, MORPHY and many others
