HIPHOP CONNECTION: Genuinely Impressive UK rap all the way on this EP, as Complex provides a series of moody,smoky beats perfectly in keeping with CLG's deep, sonorous voice. Taking time as a concept, each of the tracks plays fast and loose with the concept, with the head-nodder 'U can't Ignore This' just edging out the moving tribute to Stephen Lawrence that is 'School Friend' as the pick of the cuts. (Rated 8th out of the 25 new releases) RAGO MAGAZINE: Oh gosh! I've been jamming this CD so hard. I have been feeling CLG for a few years now, but this has to be the release that will surely get him the props he deserves. I mean I got to mention the massive 'Gone' track which features Papa Lente, where CLG tells a story and even mentions a man he knows from Wolftown!!! (Brapppp!!!!). So yeh man, all seven tracks are killers no fillers. 'U Can't Ignore This' gets the CD off to a brilliant start, but it's the 'Night-Time' track that really pricked up my ears. Here Kyza drops one of his sickest verses I have heard for a while, alongside some ill bars from CLG and Kwest. 'Everyday' and 'School Friend' show diversity from CLG, as well as showing why Complex is one of the hottest producers in London right now. The last track 'Time' has to be my personal favourite with some big bars from Big Manage, Syanyde, Conflix and Skandal (Chain Of Command). This release is so sik man. Proper uplifting road music. My only problem with this CD is that it only has seven tracks; I really wish they'd made another five so it was an album. Saying that, it's good to feel like you need/want more. Big up CLG – big from day… your progression in music has been noted. Top UK release! [Tricksta] THESKINNY.CO.UK: Sounds groove along and crash into each other with spectacular precision on this release. Each track provides a different shade or position on how events in our lives affect us, and there are some beautiful moments of poignancy and reflection. School Friend is a touching musing on the life and tragic death of London teenager Stephen Lawrence, while Time is all about themes of reflection and looking back on our lives. A sensitive, breathy track, it gives great pause for thought. Rather than coming across with too many good ideas and not enough production skill, this is a measured, balanced release that repays on repeated listening.
