MusicAn eclectic and wide variety. Everything from Kraftwerk to Dave Matthews Band to The Police. From Billy Joel to Beethoven. From Chicago to Freezepop to They Might Be Giants to Creed.

In short, rock, hard rock, alternative, a small selection of pop, electronic (old school), house, disco, synthpop, classical, oldies, some classic rock, some New Wave, folk, filk, and just about anything that can be construed as "geek music". Oh, and mashups. Much love to DJ Luciernaga!

MoviesI'm not a big movie fan. Seriously. The idea of having to sit down for 2 hours and watch a movie doesn't float my boat. I will go to the theater because there's something specific I want to see, not just to go to the theater.

That being said, when I do watch movies, I like comedies, anything geeky or cyber, and selected "chick flicks" (Sleepless in Seattle and The American President come to mind). I also love Disney films, Pixar films, and Disney/Pixar flicks. I enjoy shorts, simply because they are that. Short.

Oh, and anything with Alfred Molina in it. What a hottie. *drool*.

TelevisionI watch very little TV, but current shows that I enjoy are: Doctor Who. The new series, so far. I'm in the middle of series/season 3. I want to start watching the old stuff, too, though.

Heroes. (OMG, Heroes. But I've missed all of the 2nd season so far.) The Simpsons. Family Guy. The War At Home. South Park.

Old shows I like are: Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: DS9, Star Trek: TNG, Commander in Chief, Brooklyn Bridge, Taxi, Welcome Back Mister Kotter, Full House, Salute Your Shorts, Futurama, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Who's Line Is It Anyway?

BooksMicroserfs by Douglas Coupland is my favorite book of all time.

I also enjoy most anything on human sexuality, whether it's a how-to or simply theorizing about it. I've got special places in my heart for BDSM, open relationships, bisexual and trans/genderqueer literature.

I love good geeky books. I enjoy ST:TNG & ST:V serial novels. I used to read Star Wars books. I don't really read general sci-fi or fantasy, but most of my friends do, so I'm at least a bit familiar with the genre. I enjoy the Harry Potter books.

There's also the books that my mom (and, more rarely, my mother's mother) recommends to me. She's usually pretty good at suggesting stuff that I'll enjoy. I read HP because of my mom, and I read The DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons because of my grandmother.

And then there's the odd book out that I like for no specific reason. I enjoyed The Rapture of Caanan.

I like comic books and graphic novels. I'm a big Doctor Octopus fangirl, so I read Spider-Man. I prefer Marvel comics (the Civil War thing going on? OMG.) but I also love stuff from the Vertigo imprint. I'm currently reading Sandman. I also adore Hothead Paisan: Homicidal Lesbian Terrorist. So much love for the Hothead and the Chicken.

For an incomplete listing of the books I've read/the books I own, check out my LibraryThing book page.

HeroesKate Bornstein, for being damn close to person I want to be and already am to an extent. For showing me that, yes, I can succeed in this world and still be 110% true to my geeky, freaky self.

Amelia Earhart, for pioneering and being herself and going boldly where other women didn't dare go. She was my childhood hero and her example for me when I was a child has helped me be the person I am today.

Doctor Octopus, in all his incarnations, for being so many of my favorite archetypes in one being. Classic!Ock has inspired me to be The Gentleman I have inside, and, oh, does it help me the ladies! Movie!Otto taught me triumph over adversity and sticking to one's dreams (albeit he doesn't do it quite right) and how trenchcoats and fedoras are inherently sexy. And Ramos!Ock gives voice to the insanity and depression inside. He's another favorite archetype: Cold Outside, Turmoil Inside. He gives me (false) strength when I need an exterior to hide behind for a little while.

My mentor Dan, without whom not only would I probably not be alive, but I probably wouldn't be here, the person I am today. Thanks, Daddy.

Richard Feinman, for showing me that it's ok to be interdisciplinary, you don't have to choose, and for being the example I need by just generally taking the path that I seem to be taking before I take it. Thanks for being true to all your sides, not just The Physicist.

Betty Dodson, for talking about what noone else would talk about... masturbation. For making it safe back in the day (along with a bunch of other people) to talk about sex. She's also taken one of the paths that I'd like to take: one of sex educator.

I also have much love for Leslie Feinberg, Ducky Doolittle, Nicolai Tesla, Richard M. Stallman (RMS), Linus Torvalds, any of the sex-positive "radical" sex educators out there, and I'm sure a wide number of people I can't remember right now.

Who I'd like to meet:
Freaks, Geeks, Weirdos, Goths, Hippies, Gender Subverters, Gender Perverters, Gender Changers, Gender Benders, Gender Phreakers, Queers of Many Types, Sex Positives, Sex Maniacs, Sex Educators, Sex Researchers, Kinky Folk, BDSMers, Gender Researchers, Gender Educators, Nerds, Dorks, Punks, Hackers (of all definitions for the word hacker), Phone Phreakers, Role Players (inside the bedroom or non-sexual), Thinkers, Dreamers, Radical Faeries, INTELLIGENT FAs, Free Software Advocates, Open Source-ies, Fangirls, Fanboys, Fangrrls, Fanbois, intelligent BBWs, intelligent SSBBWs, people who consciously modify their bodies in whatever way, people who are doing their own thing spiritually, people who prefer to spend their time being someone else, people who know "another world is possible", people who think for fun, people with insatiable curiosity, people who like to tinker and poke their noses around in things, people who enjoy coming up with unique, elegant and creative solutions, and anyone who's a few sigmas out on the bell curve for a wide variety of reasons (just one usually isn't enough).

People who just want to have sex with me, I'm not interested in meeting. So, please, for the love of whatever, don't message me trying to get laid, unless you like getting chewed out. I only chose "swinger" because non-monogamous wasn't an option and it was more accurate than the others.
