Images of foggy mountains reminds Herzog's electrifying treatment of nature, character's behavior portrait reminds Buñuel's ability for the unusual. But, apart this, "As muxicas" is also deeply galician, a very odd and personal film. To see "As muxicas" is a present to the senses and to mind. The original score is full of atavistic power, the actors (he, she, and the narrator) are suggestive and touching, the cinematography are simple but voluptuous at the same time. What more I can say about this little wonder?... Only to add it's sure that its director, Carlos Alberto Alonso keeps us back more examples of his talent.
