Adam Assad started Cabal Records in the spring of 2005 in his hometown of Oviedo/Winter Springs, Florida. Beginning with the release of Bateman’s “The Love and War EP” in the opening months of 2006, Cabal Records soon followed with the release of The Neon Hookers’ “Calling All Creeps!” and the self-titled Cant Stand Losing EP. Cabal’s 2006 Spring Sampler was comprised of songs from The Neon Hookers, Cant Stand Losing, Bateman, Jacksonville’s The Damage and Connecticut rapper Shoshin.
The following year would find the label expanding internationally with the split 7-inch release of legendary Icelandic band I Adapt and The Neon Hookers. Cabal also assisted in bringing I Adapt stateside for the first and second time in their seven year history, occurring once in April of 2007 and then again in October of the same year. Once Adam returned from South Africa and a tour of the midwest/southeast portion of the United States with The Neon Hookers, the label expanded in the summer of 2007 to include booking in the local Orlando hardcore scene.
Currently, the label has expanded its personnel and includes the addition of Matt from Daytona Beach hardcore band
Meantime. Cabal Records hopes to close out the year with solid releases from a new generation of bands.
The label is open to hardcore, some metal and hip hop and fully supports the straight edge and vegan movements. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean the artists share the same support.

"Shark finning" is when fishermen cut off the fins of the shark and throw the live animal back into the ocean in order to save space on the boat. The shark drowns or bleeds to death on the ocean floor. Shark fins can sell for over $300 per pound due to the demand for shark fin soup, an Asian "delicacy".
Some species of shark populations have plumetted by 99% in the last 20 years and are in danger of becoming extinct, due mainly to the practice of finning.
HERE ARE 8 SIMPLE WAYS TO HELP STOP SHARK FINNING:
1. Don't eat shark fin soup! Don't eat in restaurants that serve it until they stop.
2. Support organisations that are fighting to save marine wildlife such as Sea Shepherd and Wild Aid.
