The band Cabruêra started in Campina Grande, Paraíba (Brazil), in 1998.
Vivid Arthur Pessoa who decided to switch his Cultural Anthropologies studies to adventure into
modern music with Cabruêra is not the only one inventive and creative.
Edy Gonzaga keeps the pulse of the band with his four string bass guitar.
Pablo Ramires, who played in several heavy metal bands in Brazil before he hits Cabruera and created a perfect combination with his drums to rock and grooves.
At least Leonardo Marinho - joined the group
and so the fresh flavor of technic and sound kicked Cabruera into the next dimension.
A new music style was born.
Cabruêra toured already 7 years in a row in several European countries, like Netherlands, Denmark (Roskilde) , Germany (POPKOMM), Portugal, Italy (WOMAD), France (MIDEM) Chechz.........
In 2001 Cabruêra released their first album, "Cabruêra".
They recorded their second album in 2004 produced by Nilo Romero, “O Samba da Minha Terra”, which has been released internationally
through PIRANHA Musik with a new sequencing, mixing and under the new title “Proíbido Cochilar –
Sambas for sleepless Nights”.
Followed by "SonsDaParaiba", Cabruêra showed that Popular Folk Songs can be universalized if 4 enthusiastic musicians take care of it. With a new instrumentation and new arrangements these "old" songs became a full facelift.
"SonsDaParaiba" is free for licensing and publishing worldwide.
After a short Club-Tour in May 08 in France, Cabruêra is back in Brazil to finish the guidelines of their new album.
