A unique blend of Latin American Music with authentic instruments.
“CACHICAMO LATIN HARP” is an exuberant group who play Latin-American music with exciting rarely–seen instruments, such as Colombian Harp, Cuatro Llanero (meaning four strings from the plains) and Double Bass, as well as percussion instruments. Together, they have great visual appeal and lend an air of relaxation and refined, cheerful rhythmic ability.
Sandra delights with her wild interpretation of the harp, complimented by the rich sonorities of the Cuatro and percussion of Elkin Bernal. John Varney plays the Double Bass
The spicy frontline includes acclaimed Colombians singers Mario Sarmiento and Katherine Zaidiza . They have only been in Australia for a few months but they have already performed at the City Hall and have supported Latin Bands such as Latin Harp and 'La Gran Salsa'.
Their performances are colourful and joyful with a very danceable acoustic salsa feel; the group's music is as wild and unique as the Cachicamo, a small Armadillo-like creature from Colombia.
