In The Beginning, there was naught. This little zero got tired of floating in the nothingness and congealed into a great mass of flaming hydrogen. 'Oh-ho' it thought to itself, 'Maybe now is time for KaBOOM!' And thusly was the universe born. Over a very long period of time (imagine a three week holiday in Dunoon) things started to grow and evolve and then there was life. Eventually an ape descended life form emerged who used tools and wreaked havoc on all other forms of creation bringing death and destruction everywhere it could. Ironically, this lifeform became known as 'mankind'
Mankind, through it's unkind ways, learned to control it's immediate environment through the wonders of tools, fire, wheels, ropes and air conditioning. This made mankind feel a little safer, a little more secure and a lot less threatened by scary things such as wolves, bears, chihuahuas, heffalumps and wombles. The decrease in fear, and of course, perceived threat made mankind so uneasy that something had to be done. The only solution?
War.
Lately though, wars have been decreasing in popularity. No longer do we engage in the global sport of World War but instead concentrate on smaller, more manageable wars that we can fight with less loss of life. These wars include, the "war on want", "war on drugs" and the "World of Warcraft". The aforementioned "World of Warcraft" is probably the closest thing we have to a world war these days, but I digress.
There has been a strong corrolation between the birth of Rock and Roll and the decrease in global voilence. It is with this in mind that Cadatharla proudly step into the new age of enlightnment to spread the philosophy of Peas through music.
Our goal is to have a good time, playing dance music for people who can't dance. We re the all original, all singing, all dancing (except Paddy and Frankly) Cadatharla
If you're interested in jamming with an all original, hard working band who don't want to play the same old Emo, shoegaze or fall into the ever tightening description for the now industry recognized 'Alternative' style, drop us a line. Strictly over 18s
Its been a while and we thought it was about time we updated you on what we've been up to. Our debut EP Little World is now available at our gigs and will soon be available from our myspace and facebook pages, you will also be able to download it from itunes, but we don't have a release date for this as yet.
To celebrate the fact that we have now reached 25,000 plays on myspace, we are giving you a free MP3 of Rockabye Baby. All you have to do is send your email address to queen.elvis@yahoo.ie and we will send it to you.
We have spent the last year rehearsing with a full band and are now ready to bring it on the road. You can get a look at us when we appear on Balcony TV this week with the full line up. We are currently taking bookings for gigs/concerts/festivals and can be contacted on the email above, or through our myspace and facebook pages.
