WORLD-FAMOUS CADILLAC BAR SETS BIG PARTY, LIVE MUSIC
SAN ANTONIO – The Cadillac Bar – a storied venue of history and class - celebrates it’s 37th anniversary on Thursday, Aug. 27 with live concerts, celebrities, lots of food and fun.
Like the Tower of the Americas, the Alamo and other Central Texas attractions, the Cadillac Bar Restaurant is a must-stop on any tourist’s must-see lists.
“San Antonio is known throughout the world for cultural icons from the past. What makes the Cadillac Bar so special is that it's is the Gold standard, an icon that's alive with today's culture,” said Tejas Records Vice President John Whipple. “The daily comings and goings, the quinceañeras, weddings, record release parties and business meetings; that's the beating heart of San Antonio.”
Performing Thursday, Aug. 27 will be Jesse D & New Variety Band, guest artists and mariachi troupes. Special guests include Grammy-winning singer Ruben Ramos, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Ramiro Cavazos.
There will also be free food and drinks at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
“The Cadillac is one of the most elegant clubs in Texas,” said Houston booking agent/record label promoter Jumpin’ Jess Rodriguez. “Every time we visit San Antonio, all our artists make it a point to stop in and say hi to the owners.”
The Cadillac Bar is a legendary establishment, whose origins can be traced back to New Orleans in the early 1920s. According to the bar’s website, “Prohibition caused the original owner to pack up everything and move to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico in 1926. It was a good move. Today, millions of people from all over the world have been to the Cadillac Bar Restaurant.”
“San Antonio has the pleasure of having its own original Cadillac Bar Restaurant with the same fine food and drinks that have been satisfying customers for over 60 years. It’s located in Stumberg Square at the corner of South Flores and Nueva Street in the heart of the downtown business district.”
Owners Jesse Medina and Raul Ledezma say they are proud of the beautiful and romantic story of the historic Cadillac Bar, perhaps the most famous bar in the American Southwest and northern Mexico.
One of the secrets of the Cadillac’s longevity is owners Jesse Medina and Raul Ledezma's emphasis on friendly customer service. Unlike most corporate owned clubs, the owners make it a point to personally greet their club regulars and give them a feeling that they're partying at a friend's place.
“Whether we have visitors from México, European tourists, or Texas music fans, we take pride in making patrons feel at home,” said owner Jesse Medina. “The Cadillac is our house, but we do our very best to make sure everyone feels at home and experiences a wonderful, unforgettable time.”

“The Cadillac Bar Restaurant, with all its historic allure, is located in the heart of downtown San Antonio. It offers easy access from any part of the city. The structure has been in existence for over 200 years. It
is close to many downtown points of interest and ideal for work and social gatherings. It is the original of two Cadillac Bar Restaurants. The second was established in Nuevo Laredo in the 1920s. On any given
day you can expect to walk in and find an array of patrons, from political figures, tourists, and friendly locals, to an occasional celebrity. The Cadillac offers the best in hospitality, food, and drinks. It is known for its famous Margaritas (Guinness Book of World Records Biggest Margarita, 1992). From its sprawling original hardwood floors, ceilings, and stone walls, to its relaxing courtyard, the Cadillac has been a San Antonio favorite for many years. One thing you can always expect to receive when visiting the Cadillac is a warm welcome from owners, Jesse Medina and Raul Ledezma, who have owned the establishment for 37 years.
