The end of September is near. Weve completed an east coast tour with Small Brown Bike and are finishing a twenty hour drive from Gainesville Florida to Denver Colorado. This incredibly long drive was made to meet up with our good friend Mike Park and his Plea for Peace Tour. It is agreed that this is has to be one of the high points of the years tours. We complete this phenomenal tour in Milwaukee Wisconsin with a rather bizarre soul train consisting of members of Cadillac Blindside, Alkaline Trio, Hot Water Music, and childhood star Dustin Diamond (Screech Powers of Saved by the Bell). This moment would never be topped.
Touring partners of Alkaline Trio, At The Drive-In and Dashboard Confessional, CADILLAC BLINDSIDE specialise in dark, emotional punk rock; something like a ballsier Get Up Kids meets Dillinger 4, with meaningful lyrics. Licensed from punk label of the moment FUELED BY RAMEN, home of Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is and Panic! At The Disco, These Liquid Lungs A Retrospective is the first UK release from the hugely underrated Minneapolis band.
This release compiles their Fueled By Ramen recordings for the first time and includes extensive liner notes written specially for this release by the band, exploring their history and the inspirations behind various songs.
Static is tuned in on the TV. Ive lost track of time, and havent slept for days. Im not phased by anyones concerns as I reach for the Appetite for Destruction CD case. Crushing lines with an old worn drivers license, I look down at the picture and wonder what happened to that 16 year old kid. I breathe it in through my nose feeling a rush I could only imagine feeling after jumping from a plane at 20,000 feet. Suddenly, my left arm strains in pain and my nose begins to bleed. I can hardly breathe and my heart feels like it is going to explode. As I begin to feel distant, I feel that I am surely about to die.
