Cafe 222 was created with the vision of establishing an atmosphere that facilitates relationships amongst young adults (namely 20 and 30 year olds) and offers an alternative to your typical bar scene (which we know can get old). However, we are not checking IDs at the door - all are welcome. It just means that the creation of the room, choice of artists, and entertainment are chosen with that age range in mind. We offer an eclectic mix of artists in genres ranging from acoustic, to reggae, to blues, etc. We also display a variety of artistic expressions through event nights featuring indie films, art showings, classic movies, dj’s, poetry, open mic, etc. While we love to host these events on certain nights, we also see the importance in opening the space to simply exist. This allows for more in-depth conversation, focused reading, and to promote the use of our free wireless capabilities that may otherwise be limited by the degree of entertainment.
