About Cafe del mar music

Since it's inception in 1993 the Café Del Mar series has been recognized as the first and only compilation to refelect the true Balearic spirit of Ibiza. The series has now sold well over 1 million copies worldwide and is recognised as a brand name in over 30 countries. Madonna cited the series as her favourite listening material in a recent Rolling Stone interview and went on record to say how much she has been influenced by Café Del Mar's esoteric and experimental sound. Over the years the series has released gems from artists as diverse as Leftfield, Fila Brazilia, Chicane, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Massive Attack, Moby, Bent, Groove Armada, Dusty Springfield, Nitin Sawney and Talvin Singh, among many, many others. "The Café Del Mar is for clubbers what the Taj Mahal is for tourists: a beautiful, serene and idyllic place of legend that they really have to visit. The compilation series perfectly captures the bar's sunset views, smiling faces and chilled Balearic vibe by bringing together blissed-out tunes from around the world."
