The acoustic properties of our instruments create a tight, melodic, exotic and thoroughly mellow sound for your pleasure. Our repertoire comes from a selection of international music that begins from early French and American Swing to Latin Bossa Nova, Samba and Choros, and contemporary Jazz, Blues, and Broadway Standards. You can chose the group and repertoire for any event you are planning. Don’t forget that the classical duo, with clarinet and guitar, can be used for a wedding and/or ceremonial music. The ambience can be useful for small parties/events.
GROUP I: WELCOME TO CAFE JAZZ. We are an acoustic group which carefully blends a menu of the international jazz styles of:
CAFE JAZZ (BRAZILIAN/LATIN, BROADWAY/JAZZ STANDARDS, BLUES):
LARRY NOBORI, clarinet/alto sax, presents a broad menu of Latin samba, bossa, choros, and straight ahead jazz. With guitarist Larry Munson, 7 string electric and acoustic guitar, the options are almost limitless. We can also include some unusual novelty songs as well as gypsy and American swing.
GROUP II: GYPSY JAZZ (FRENCH AND AMERICAN SWING): An acoustic blend of clarinet, two acoustic guitars, and bass. Under the influence of Django Reinhardt and Hot Club in Paris in the 1930’s and American swing of the 30’s and 40’s. This group can be expanded to include drums, trumpet and/or vocal
CLASSICAL: Larry Nobori- clarinet and Larry Munson- guitar, are both classicly trained musicians, and have a repertoire of ceremonial music for weddings and specail events.
