About me: Hello my names Reuben,and i live with JB and our two kids . I'm a carpenter/woodworker in the cold months.Ten years ago I built a 12volt sound system for my van. Then I went and built a better one, this time for outside the van and using an even better 12volt sound system kit. With a marquee and pancake trailer i drove it around parts of wales making tea/coffee putting on small parties playing ska,dub,reggae,fat beats and hip hop etc with some friends who had a psytrance rig. I also used it at a dub reggae night in Aberystwyth along with some other events.
Three years ago I embarked on a project with a friend(now working on his own projects) to get my 12volt PA and solar powered stage and cinema onto the festival circuit. This was all possible with the support from my family and friends who helped me build up and run our stage, cinema café and organic bar which we’ve now ran at a number of festivals,sport, weddings and other events.
Starting with a small budget I had a challenge on my hands to design, find and build the unique marquee that we have.I am quite pleased with the way this has turned out.
Using the energy of the wind and sun to power the whole venue has been a great way of raising awareness of renewable energy to anyone who uses the space.And i never need to deal with a generator any more.
