There are 5 of us who currently help plan and organise each service (Will, Carrie, Rob, Helen & Tracy).
We are always happy to involve other people too, so if you want to help set up on the day, plan what we're going to do in the future or just want to write a blog let us know by emailing contact@cafesundae.co.uk
We're a group of people who decided that we wanted to try a different way of doing church. In fact this will probably be ‘Church as You’ve Never Seen It Before’. Some months it is church as we've never seen it before!
We meet at 6:30pm every second Sunday of the month at Timperley Methodist Church, Stockport Road, Cheshire. We'd like to do the Café every week, but to be honest it takes us 2 weeks to recover from running one, and longer to prepare for the next one, so one a month is as good as it is going to get.
You can come expecting a mixture of:
Café style
That means a cafe (obvious hey!) and chairs round tables so you've got somewhere to keep a drink, rather than the normal set-up of rows of all facing the front.
Interactive table games
We like people to talk to each other, just a little bit, and we promise they won't bite (hard)
Multimedia
Lots of songs and pictures for you to ignore because you're too busy going to the café to get another smoothie, not that we mind... putting all that work into it... hours slaving away... sniff.
All challenging you to respond to The Message
That's a subtle way of saying that we believe God loves us so much that you and I should live differently to make a difference to others in our response to God.
The chances are that the month you do come, we'll have done something bizarre like setting up a barricade guarded by soldiers so that no-one can even get into the church.
No, seriously, please come along. Or why not just sign up to our emails? We send them before and after the Cafés so you know what's going on, and maybe one of them will catch your eye...
