Farewell, Caffe' Baccini On Sunday, October 12th, Caffe Baccini in South Medford closed its doors. The slumping economy apparently has claimed one more small business. An unfortunate victim of the ever-accelerating recession, the wonderful Caffe' Baccini closes its doors. Caffe' Baccini was run by one of the friendliest families, Laura and her children Domenic, Liana & Lisa. Caffe' Baccini was an unpretentious, welcoming place where everyone felt at home, and where one could look forward to after a long afternoon/evening of work, or idly carousing with friends time and time again. "It's just kind of a hard thing all around. We struggled with the decision for a long time," said owner Laura Baccini. "We tried to hang on as long as we could." Continually rising costs, lack of available parking including permit parking only, and the struggling economy, all contributed to force the closure after two years in business. Baccini says, they never expected to make record profits, but could no longer afford to operate at a loss. "We had some real loyal customers who loved the food, the atmosphere & the family," Baccini said, "just not enough of them." “We’d like to thank our customers for their loyal patronage ” says the Baccini Family. We want to thank all of you for your support, and a special thank you to all of our regulars, we couldn't have done it without you! Good luck to you all, we will miss you...We'll see you again :) It is still hard for us to walk away from such amazing customers...like the ones we have had!" Here's a fond farewell to a favorite spot in Medford -- to the Caffe' Baccini! It is not without a lot of forethought and reluctance that we came to this decision. Caffe' Baccini has been a labor of love; a love of family business, people, and a desire to bring something fresh and fun to Medford. We have had many “magical” moments at The Caffe' that will never be forgotten! To our patrons and loyal regulars, we most gratefully want to tell you how much your love of The Caffe' and the Family gave us constant encouragement to keep it going. . Ciao, The Baccini's ...
