...what's this about?...
welcome, stranger.this humble page is my art-blog, located on myspace, among other numerous pages on the web. my name is Lisa, and this page will include a selection of works of mine such as photography, videos and cg work, while I am working on my webpage. I will upload things I worked on and keep you updated, if you're interested. so, welcome to my little world, and enjoy. so, here is some information about what I have been doing so far and where I want to go. and what will happen to me on the way, you will most likely be able to follow around this blog. feel free to IM me. ... work in progress ... well, I am headed for my diploma. huge thing. now let me quickly summarize what it's all about: I plan on doing it on Edutainment, which is a combination of Entertainment and Education. object of desire: Alcatraz purpose: make the island accessible in Realtime 3D from the point of its discovery up to 1911, when it became a military penitentiary software used: Maya 8.5 (for the 3D models of the island and the buildings), Photoshop CS3 (for the textures and the user interface), Quest 3D or Unity (for the programming of the application and its behavior) desired result: a standalone application, installable both on Mac and Pc status: work in progress in case you want to see what exactly I am doing (sometimes visual information is a lot better than written information), click >> here << to check out the promotion blog we set up a while ago. ... completed projects ... POSTERGIRL the girl lives in a billboard, and her life is as frozen, flat and black and white as the billboard is. then she starts to feel life creep into her, and she dances her way out of the billboard. she becomes 3 dimensional and colored, she's alive. Software: Discreet Combustion, FinalCut, Adobe Photoshop CS2 "Dark" this video was shot for my pre-degree, a music video to the song "dark" by Ray Wilson (www.raywilson.net). the storyline is based on the expression of emotions through certain metaphors such as photographs (memories) and a breaking glass sphere (the picture in a glass sphere usually is upside-down, and when it breaks this is being reversed again). the protagonist is living in dark memories of her past, and she starts fighting them because they detain her. she dances her way out of darkness, away from pain and destructive emotions. she frees herself from anything which holds her back. Eventually she breaks free and leaves all her necessities behind, out of the dark and into the light. Software: Adobe Photoshop CS2, After Effects 6.5/7 Pro, Adobe Premiere 1.5 Pro, Combustion yes, it is the same dancer as in Postergirl, but I really enjoyed working with her, therefore I thought she'd be great to work with again. I am very, VERY happy, since I can proudly say that I am featured on Ray Wilsons Website I'm so flattered and happy about that, still a very big thing for me. who hasn't yet but feels interested - click on the link and watch the video :) (in case it shouldn't open when you click on the link itself - right mouseclick > copy link location > open the Windows Media Player > and select "open URL. then paste it, and hit OK) ... what am I doing? ... obviously I am still in college, by now I completed my 7th semester and am headed for the 8th and hopefully last one. I am working on my diploma as well as on my last project, a Realtime 3D Showreel. the last project is necessary in order to officially start on my diploma. so yes, I am already working on my diploma, even though I haven't registered it yet. I went to San Francisco to shoot photos of the island and talk with the National Park Service, who were more than just helpful and interested. they are quite thrilled about the project and willing to help out wherever they can. through them I was able to make contact with the National Archives, also situated in San Francisco, where I had the opportunity to look up old photos, blueprints, height maps and floor plans, it was great. it makes working so much easier, since one really has a solid source to rely on while rebuilding everything in 3D. once I graduate I will probably have to start off with a practical training (again, I know), but that's how the job is. you learn by doing, and even a college degree doesn't necessarily mean you get a job right away. you have to prove yourself while working there, and you start low. anyways, I am specialized on 2D works, texturing 3D objects and creating flyer or posters (for example for the classic movie nights in the movie theatre I am working at. you can find the pictures if you click on photos to the left in the navigation. other than that I am doing video postproduction, digital editing and traditional as well as digital photography. I am open for interesting projects and would love to get together with different people to always be faced with new things. I like to be inspired, which is why things which might seem unworthy of attention never fail to get mine. here is a list of what programs I am working with:
there are other programs such as Macromedia Flash or Dreamweaver I have been working with in the past, but that was not on the professional level. ... how to reach me ... the website is still in the making, but the projects are so time consuming that it's hard to take care of that at the moment. but once done, you will see the link posted here, and then you will be able to browse more than just the few pictures you find in my albums on myspace. ... videos ... to view the videos in a greater resolution and better quality, please go to "videos" on the left in the navigation. ..
