Cailyn: I played guitar intensely as a teenager in the blues/rock scene in London, England. I even played a gig at the famed Marquee Club. After returning to the US, I gigged with various cover bands, learned theory and wrote music, spent time learning bass, drums, and piano--and raised a family.
Four years ago, I returned to music full time and now play bass and lead guitar with the classic power-rock band IX Lives. I run a small recording studio where I produced my first release in 2008, a blues-classical crossover EP which received good reviews including a mention in Vintage Guitar Magazine. I finished producing a full length progressive rock CD in April 2009, recorded with Dani Daly, an outstanding female vocalist. I have just completed a makeover on New World in Blue which includes new vocals, drums and a full remix/remastering. I am particularly interested in reinterpreting classical compositions and classic rock songs in modern arrangements. My classical works can now be found on Cailyn Classical (see top friends)
Dani: Vocalist with Oil Can Harry. See her profile in my top friends.
Hey Cailyn... nice to hear from you and sorry to be so late to respond! Kids are out of school and things are crazy!! :) So I see you & Dani have a new album out!! I checked out a couple of tunes on your page. Very cool... and your guitar playing is excellent (as would be expected!) :) Hope you had a great 4th. Take care, xo C
Will Scott's new album, GNAWBONE, is here!! The CD is available at CDBaby (www.cdbaby.com/all/willscottmusic) and other online retailers.
Over three years in the making, GNAWBONE is Scott's fully-produced studio debut and features a crack team of hand-picked musicians as well as guest performances by Jan Bell, Jolie Holland, Samantha Parton, and Preacher Boy (the album's producer).
Musically things aren't too bad with me! Still trying to finish a mandolin piece to put up. Hope to be done with that within the next month. But I'm going to more jams right now so I can be seen out in the local music community so people know who I am. I'm getting a lot more confidence to play live, so that is good! I possibly may put together a music project next year. I think by that time I'll be ready for one again.
LOVE your version of "Can't Find My Way Home"!!! ALWAYS loved that Blind Faith tune!! You are so creative at arranging classic tunes with a different twist and I applaud you for that!
You, too, have a great and safe holiday weekend and thanks for checking in! I need and appreciate the encouragement from great female players like you! It means a lot to me!
