CAIM was born in a Portuguese island called Madeira, in August 2001. Nelio (drummer) invited his friends Duarte and Pedro (vocals and guitars), for a summer vacation. The idea was to have some fun on the island and jam a little. Nelio also invited islanders Paulo (bass) and Bruno (guitars) to join the group.
After jamming and rehearsing for three days, the new born band enrolled in a band contest in Funchal city, reusing old songs from previous projects.
The first prize was opening for two major Portuguese bands. Well... CAIM won it!
Summer was over, everyone went back home, to Portugal (mainland). They lost sight of each other until they reunited, one year later, again in Madeira island, to compete in the biggest band contest of Madeira, sponsored by Antena 3 (a major Portuguese radio). The show was on the radio and on the TV. CAIM won again!
Only then, this band's potential was taken in consideration by its own musicians, who decided to invest more time on this project, working on a fifteen song line up. From funk to rock, spiced up with percussion (Ivo), they've reached their own sound.
Since CAIM, became a band with credits, they have opened for several big bands; played in most of the Portuguese fnac stores; and were selected to be part of a Coca Cola compilation: coca cola garage bands.
The Band is looking forward to be on a stage near you, wherever you are in the world!

Reply: Esse concerto em Alfeizerão teve um significado bastante forte, especialmente para mim, dado que foi ao mesmo tempo o último concerto de Fractal, o primeiro na terra onde se criou o projecto e o primeiro em que partilhámos o palco com os grandes Caim.
