I believe that the key to finding true happiness, the fountain of youth, everlasting vibrance (inside and out)and living every day of your life to the fullest is...Passion. Performance is my passion. Choreography is my oxygen. Improvisation is what I do walking do the street, even if my body is just walking. Teaching is what makes me smile every night before I go to sleep. This is me.

BIOGRAPHY

Cait Jones is a prolific dancer and choreographer, having created dances for Chicago stages since the age of 14. Cait honed her teaching, dancing and choreographic skills as Rehearsal Director for Footprints Tap Ensemble and as Artistic/Rehearsal Director of Footprints II, in addition to the seven years she spent as a dancing member of the ensemble. As a tap dance dynamo, she has performed at most major mid-west venues, in the Nutcracker On Broadway, and most recently at The Venetian in Las Vegas. Her choreography has been seen in Footprints' Tap Jams since 2000, Columbia College's Young Artist Showcase, the 2001 International Dance Collaboration with Russia, Forum Jazz Dance Theatre's Jazz Forum 2003, Dance Chicago, the Chicago Human Rhythm Project's concerts, Happy Feet promotionals, and the Shedd Aquarium to name a few. Cait danced as an apprentice member of Chicago Tap Theatre and performed in their 2002 premier, The Blue Show. She has taken master classes with Savion Glover, Jason Samuels Smith, Dianne Walker, Sarah Petronio, Cholly Atkins, Leonard Reed, Sam Weber, Mark Yonally, Lane Alexander, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Mike Minery and many others. Her dance has been heavily influenced by the teachings of Mark Yonally, the business acumen of Shelley Hoselton, and the dynamic stylings of the hard-hitting hoofers. In fact, her most memorable tap dance experience was performing a duet at Tap Jam 2003! with Emmy-winning choreographer Jason Samuels Smith. Cait has been awarded major scholarships in both tap and jazz dance and has become a sought-after choreographer in both. Cait continues to give private tap and jazz dance lessons and accept commissions to create choreography, as she performs and teaches tap, jazz and hip hop all over the city of Chicago.
