Help us STOP drunk driving!
About me: Caitlin Elizabeth Weese was killed by a drunk driver in May of 2003. She was 17 and a senior at Larkin high school in Elgin. Caitlin was shopping at Woodfield Mall for a dress to wear to her senior boat trip on Lake Michigan. I still have the Nordstroms bag in my closet. She had picked out a white knee length skirt and a pink blouse with earings and a bracelet to match. Caitlin was driving home to her parents house westbound on route 72 near Gilberts. She was hit head-on. The driver of the other vehicle, James T. Stitt had a blood alcohol level of .163 & under the influence of marijuana. He was a repeated DUI offender & driving on a suspended liscense. It took 20 min for the jaws of life to cut the top of her car open and get her out. She was airlifted to Luthern General Hospital in Park Ridge. Caitlin died 2 days later of swelling to her brain. She was supposed to turn 18 three weeks later, be the maid of honor in her sister's wedding the following summer and was set to attend MCC for college. On the day we had planned Caitlin's graduation party, we were having her wake. Caitlin was beautiful, bubbly & so full of life. She could make anyone laugh. She was always cracking jokes & acting silly. Caitlin was the kind of person you always looked forward to seeing because she was always happy, laughing & smiling. Our annual walk5kforcaitlin raises money for a Larkin high school scholarship in Caitlin's memory and AAIM (alliance against intoxicated motorists), who help victims and the families of victims of drinking & driving. This Year, the walk will be held on SATURDAY JUNE 7TH 2008. Registration begins at 8am and the walk begins at 9am. REMEMBER, you can pre-register by printing out a form from our website at www.walk5kforcaitlin.com

Who I'd like to meet: Everyone coming to the 5th Annual Walk 5k For Caitlin 2008!!! See you there = )
I remember the day after prom we decided we wanted to go go-carting...we drove over to my bf's house and told him thats what we wanted to do...we had no idea where there was a go-cart track...we jumped in his car and had him drive us around forever looking for one...we finally found one and her and I wanted to keep riding them so even though we were the only people there we had to get off of them and then we ran through the non-existent line and jumped into a different cart every time...it was so much fun, I still have no idea how we found that go-cart track
i remember forth of july at the remmers every year, caitlin and i would fight over who was zack's girlfriend. then we would attack him and smother him with kisses! caitlin always had her mothers humor
I remember when Elliott was born and Caitlin was sooo afraid to hold him; she thought she was going to break him. But after being home about a month; she'd came home from school and was like where's my baby?! They had the most incredible bond!
I remember coming home for xmas during basic training and Caitlin would be the only other person up early and we'd watch infomercials and eat cereal...until we both fell back asleep.
I remember one time after work, Caitlin and I went to the Applebees in Lake in the Hills and I realized that I locked my keys in my car. She was laughing at me soo much .. the next day SHE locked HER keys in her car at work! lol We were laughing all day!
I remember in spanish class when we would have to partner up to make up sentences and speak spanish together Caitlin would have me cracking up at some of the stuff she would say and we would always be told to stop goofing off! She made spanish class fun!!
Caitlin would put on these pink(of course) fuzzy gloves... and copy the old polar ice commercials... she would act like a grizzly bear and growl... she did it like 15 times a day for about 2 months straight... It was the funniest thing, seening this innocent girl... trying to act mean
I'll go first. When we were younger Caitlin would get home from school before me. She would always make me a snack. It was the most random crap! She'd melt shredded cheese on a bagel or ice cream with chocolate chips and marshmallos. One day she took a waffle & put peanut butter and strawberries on top. It was sweet! lol
