Calamity Jane Recordings, Strictly Rhythm’s newest imprint, has managed to rise above the fray with a unique formula focused on artist development. They discover burgeoning electro/indie-dance musicians, work with them to perfect their product, pair them with world-renowned remixers, and represent them with some of the most respected names in house music. The resulting sound features a fusion that incorporates the best of the indie-dance and house music, creating an appealing package for dance music lovers around the globe.
Their debut release featured Milwaukee's The Glamour, and next up is California's True Pseudo!
What happens when two D&B producers meet up with one electro lover and find out they’re all rock fans? Meet True Pseudo, the Orange County trio that crosses tastes to create a novel fusion appealing to rock and dance fans alike. Melding backgrounds and tastes, influence from French house to dance punk distortion can be heard in their productions, which rock out with strong synth and guitar lines alike.
Their debut pop-punk-dance track “Freaking Me Out” is now back with new remixes and a new DJ-friendly extended version! We already brought you mixes by Nadastrom and ULTRNX (and if you haven’t listened, go do it already) and now we are proud to bring you additional support from Designer Drugs and Pilotpriest! Blog darling Designer Drugs turns the song on its head with a synth heavy descending bassline that can only be described as a total monster while Pilotpriest brings the song in an entirely different direction, pairing the intense vocals with airy pads and moody bass guitar that lends an intense emotional side.
Look for additional Calamity Jane releases in the near future as they continue to bring you the best indie-dance and electro house has to offer.

Check it out! I wrote a free book on music production! It's for total beginners, but if you aren't new to music production, maybe you'll still learn something... at least you can send it to your friends who always want to ask you a billion questions about music production! It's free so...
So, just like old folks, I believe that music should be given respect. We celebrate people who retire with parties, but what do we do for the music that we retire from our Vinyl/CD collections, or top playlists, or whatever your specific preference is?? I decided that I would celebrate tracks that I no longer foresee myself playing at gigs by presenting the “5 ON IT” Mix Series. Each time around, I will select 5 tracks that have put a smile on my face along with many others.
