A caldera is formed by the collapse of the central part of a volcano or by explosions of an extraordinarily violent proportion. For eons such cataclysmic events have left scars on the face of this Earth, defining its very existence. It is also a band from the Merrimack Valley area that was formed in the summer of 2008. Caldera's music represents a channeled reaction to a world in turmoil; not just a dormant exposé, but an attempt to cope with and overcome our frustrations.
While most of the band’s members have known each other for many years, forming a band together was only recently possible. Through our lives thus far we’ve all faced a great deal of adversity and these songs are a chronicle of those ups and downs, and a dedication to those who have felt the same. Through these experiences our vision has become more focused, and brought our writing process more substance. On a simpler level, it is music from the heart, without trying to let what the radio deems as popular cloud our direction.
With nearly a full year under our belt, we are steadily finding ourselves and our fan base. We’ve had the privilege of sharing the stage with many other great bands in the local music scene for which we are very grateful.
