Owner, Freelance Producer / Engineer
Steve is a well-established and much sought after freelance Producer & Engineer. He has worked on a large number of album, single and remix projects, many with acclaimed artists such as The Happy Mondays, T-Rex, Clive Russell, John Helliwell, Mike Walker, Mark Hart, Sunny D Levine, Operator Six, Exit State& Mabel Blue. Steve has a first class honours degree in Engineering and was responsible for designing and building the studio complex.
He is also a Senior Lecturer in Music Technology based at Huddersfield University and currently studying for a PhD based around Audio Quality in Music Production.
When not producing music for clients or lecturing Steve runs King Prawn Records, an independant record label.
Aside of the studio, Steve is currently freelancing as a session musician having previously played in a number of semi-pro and fuction bands. He plays Bass, Mandolin & Guitar and is learning Drums. You can often see him at jam nights around Halifax and Hebden Bridge. In addition, he has previously promoted and engineered band nights at a number of venues throughout Yorkshire.
Michail Gounelas
In-house Assistant Engineer
Michail is the newest member of our team. He has a first class honours degree in Music Technology and Audio Systems. Although he has a background in electronic music, he has engineered numerous bands ranging from rock and metal to blues and trip hop. In addition to his skills as an engineer, he brings a wealth of experience in the design and build of custom audio gear and audio/visual software.
Aside of the studio, Michail has collaborated with a number of visual and media artists from around the world (Spain, France, Greece, etc.).

The studio is a purpose built complex offering fully automated multi track digital or analogue recording. It's luxurious, comfortable, relaxed and very well equipped. It's situated in the picturesque Calder Valley, on the slopes of the Pennines close to Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Within easy reach of the M62 we are easily accessable. We are Pro Tools HD3 equipped and can handle projects of all sizes.
We don't have a city centre location, therefore we have lower costs. We pass on these savings to our clients by offering lower session rates.

We have put a new song up for you, it’s only a rough demo which hasn’t really been mixed well and hasn’t been produced but it will give you a taster of what may come next in our next recording sessions which we are trying to set before Christmas.

Hi Steve, Just been looking at your website. I'm very interested in a short course, maybe in fact, all 3 of your courses! I'm just starting a hobby business with a home studio using Cubase LE4. My wife does a weekend each month on a course in Hebden Bridge so a Saturday or Sunday would be great. In fact she is there this weekend, or 26th/27th September.
