Scuba diving. Nothin's better. Well, I'd like to learn to fly, but that'll wait till I get rich. :) Until then, nothin's better. Oh wait, no, Komets Hockey is sweet. The K's are the reason for my page's colors...but yeah, I love listening to music, just hanging with friends, and all the other common teenage stuff (even though I'm not a teenager any more)
Music
I like tons of styles, but country tops my list. Then there's alternative rock, pop, all that mainstream stuff..

Books
The Lord of the Rings books rock. Its amazing how well Tolkein made that story model the true battle between good and evil in the world.
I also like the Left Behind books. At first, I thought they'd be retarded so I didn't want to bother start reading them. But then I just picked up the first one, and I was hooked. You ought to try them.
Tom Clancy is another great author. Nothing religious in those, just great writing.
The latest books I've been into are the Sackett books by Louis L'Amour - they tell the story of an English man who came to America (smart guy) and he just starts going West because he wants to see whats out there. The further you get into the series, it moves on to being about his sons and their adventures. I'm now to that point, and its been a great journey so far. Learn more about the Sacketts on Wikipedia.
And never one to be satisfied by reading one book at a time, I've started reading John Grisham: I read The King of Torts and The Last Juror. I've started a few others, too, including The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, The Bourne Legacy, and Freedom from your Past (a self-help book Sara recommended). This is what happens when you read too many books at one time while going to college! haha. You start too many things and can't finish them all.
About me:
'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.' ~Jer. 29:11-12
Notice: As it says in the headline, this profile will no longer be updated. Thus, you may find links or email addresses that have since been removed, expired, terminated, or for other reasons don't work. *shrug* Sorry. I'm leaving this all up here so that I can look back on it and see a little bit of how and who I was during my late high school and college years. If you send me messages or leave me comments, I may or may not get back with you in a reasonable time; it just depends on when I happen to check the account. Look me up on Facebook instead. (I tried to put a "Facebook badge" here, but MySpace is stupid and it wasn't working. Just search for my name.) Or check my blog to see what I've been up to.
Have questions about Rose-Hulman? Shoot me an email and I'll help you out as best as I can.
Here's a little background to me. Not a whole lot, just some. My parents have been missionaries for like thirty-something years. So I was born in Indonesia and have also spent 5 years in Jamaica. (With benefits like that, why aren't more folks missionaries eh?) So anyway, I am actually kinda glad that I'm back home in States, especially with all the stupid terrorists out to kill me because I'm white, American, and at the heart of the issue, I'm a Christian. I and my family have been around a bit, and when you call the United States your home, then the old adage has never been truer: There is no place like home.
During the 06-07 year, I was a Sophomore Advisor, aka an SA. SAs live with the freshmen to ease their transition into college dorm life. If you care to learn more, there's a segment in this blog entry that has more about what SAs do.
Rose has been a leading engineering, technology, and math college for years and years. But more importantly, it has been rated THE BEST in every field it offers for the past NINE years (among schools that do not offer anything higher than a Master's degree). That is really really exciting! The average starting salary of Rose grad's is higher than $53,000 a year. Of course, we'll just have to wait and see what kind of offers I can get once I finish. But my prospects aren't looking too bad.
That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil- this is the gift of God. -- Ecclesiastes 3:13
Another great thing about this school is the job placement rate. Overall, out of those students who do not go on to graduate school, over 98% have a sound job within 6 months or less.
I know the rate varies by department, too. When I was a Civil, my department had a 100% placement rate. I'm not sure yet what the Computer Science placement rate is, though. Regardless, its gonna be pretty good, considering what the overall rate is.
There is so much about this school that is freakin' awesome but I can't put it all on here. So if you have a question, just send me a message on myspace or email me) and I'll be happy to tell you all about it - and if I don't know, then I will find out.
Haha, actually, I just make all of my blogs only available to friends now, and I started doing that around the beginning of junior year when some of my friendships from sophomore year turned sour. Not secretive about my life, just selective about who gets to know about it.
Hey Caleb! Do you remember me? Wondering how everything is going, and if your still interning at that one place you once told me about. Have you been back to D.C. sense you and I were there a few yrs back?
Really? I discovered it on Sing Star and love singing to it.
Jason and I just lost our jobs as house parents for elementary boys. It's a long story but this one kid kept trying to attack us and Jason restrained him in a way that is not approved by state for us to use. They'd actually prefer us to not restrain the kid at all and just try to get away, even if the kid is pushing or hitting you!
No where in the interview were we told that we'd be punching bags for 13 year old boys and that we'd just have to deal with it. Not cool. So overall I'm just glad that we're safe now and we're excited about what God has planned for us.
What about you? How's school? One year left, right?
I haven't left you any myspace love in a while, so I figured I would say hi again. Plus it's yet another way for me to procrastinate doing my homework, hehe. Baaahhhh, I really hate homework...
Well, since we are suppose to be getting up to 10 inches of snow tomorrow, they already cancelled the game. The other team didn't think they'd be able to make it cuz of the crappy weather. They are supposed to be posting all the new info on the Keystone website...I think its going to be on the 8th. All of our home games are at Imagine School (in the old Y building). You should try to make it...it'll be fun! :)
i can't believe you're a CS now..no homeworking, or mckinney classes, or touching my hair to annoy the crap out of me..but i'm not really suprised..you are obsessed w/MAC :)
