I find my inspiration and motivation to write to come in chaotic and sporadic waves. This is mostly due to the fact that I write primarily (if not totally) about how I feel in the moment. If I’m not feeling the emotion right then, I find it nearly impossible to write a song. Because of this, all of my songs tend to come from some part of life I’ve actually experienced or some thought that’s crossed my mind (frightening, I know). But that’s how I like it; you could say I’m “keepin’ it real.” Or you could not; I’m good with either. I received my first electric guitar just before the start of my freshman year of high school in Fredericksburg, Virginia. After a couple years of practice, I switched my main focus from electric to acoustic guitar. I began performing publicly my junior year of high school in LaGrange, Kentucky at the LaGrange Farmer’s Market. I’ve continued playing there each summer since, often accompanied by fellow guitarist Nick “The Wizard” Schuppert. In mid-2008, I finally got serious about writing songs and decided to record my own album. I recruited Scott Harper, Austin McBride, and Corwin Spaulding to aid in the production process around the same time. They’re in charge of photography, artistic design, and video design respectively. I’m currently self-recording my debut. Hope you like what you hear. ;) Oh, and by the way, I love to hear from those listening to my music. All comments, good or bad, are greatly appreciated!
