I am the Artistic Director of The Brave New Workshop, the oldest comedy theatre in the United States. Over the past decade, I've written, directed and performed dozens of shows both at the Workshop and on tour around the world.
Writing and performing comedy while surviving the bizarre and constant threats to my own well-being.
Music
The Clash, Public Enemy, and any Zydeco music as long as it doesn't focus too heavily on accordion.
Movies
As the father of an infant, it is no longer legal for me to see movies.
Books
Honestly, I spend a lot of time writing and much less time reading (this may prompt a deluge of "writer scorn"--come get some). I mostly read non-fiction. Books I've enjoyed recently include Why People Believe Weird Things and A History of Knowledge.
Greetings to all. I have lived on a ship, been bitten by a poisonous spider, sustained serious physical injuries, angered many people, traded foreign currency, and recently introduced two former heads of the CIA to a screaming group of investment bankers at a Las Vegas casino. Travels have taken me to places including but not limited to Japan, Austria, France, The Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Greece, Croatia, the former Soviet Bloc, and Iowa. I have been questioned by immigration officials who did not believe I was American, customs officials who did not believe I was not a smuggler, and police who did not believe I was just out for a walk. However, I was not questioned by the Secret Service while preparing to introduce a former President of the United States even though I was carrying eight knives in plain sight.
Who I'd like to meet:
Genghis Khan, Harry Houdini, Buckminster Fuller, Rasputin, General George S. Patton, Moe Berg, Benjamin Franklin, Pythagoras, Thales, Miyamoto Musashi, Mark Twain, and many other dead people.
Just thought you would like to know I put up some photos of The Danger Committee in my photos. Hope to get some better shots next week with out all the rain.
