All good music influences me, I don't care what kind or category. I find also that people, places, travel, boredom, and guitars of different kinds influence me too. I have about 1000 "Top 5" albums. Mainly stuff from the 60s and 70s, but also stuff from the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. I realized today that it's been 40+ years since the White Album was released, and Robert Johnson recorded his sides 30 years before that. So we are now further from the White Album than the Beatles were from Robert Johnson. Time is weird that way.

"MEMORY WELL picks up where BRICKYARD ROAD leaves off and explodes in all directions. Roots rock, country blues, Revolver-esque pop, and apocalyptic folk meet jazz-tinged standards and churning lawnmowers, featuring Caleb on most of the instruments, all of the guitars, and concise, poignant lyrics. Added to the mix are guest appearances by local luminaries Caleb Hamilton on trumpet, Ariana Nasr on violin, and the members of TITANIC PROPORTIONS. This cd combines the heady influences of rock's classic age with the angst and turmoil of today's Empire In Collapse in a laid-back, seductive whirlpool of sound and verse. If you enjoyed BRICKYARD ROAD, then make sure your seat belt is fastened, pop MEMORY WELL into your car stereo, and drive 'til the tank is empty..."

Caleb moved to Nova Scotia from Portland, Oregon, in 2005. He began performing at the age of 15, playing lead guitar in several original New Mexico rock bands throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, including The Illegal Aliens, F.O.R., and A Murder Of Crows. After living in Georgia and Kentucky for a brief period, Caleb settled in Portland, Oregon, and played in a string of bands fronted by Lewi Longmire. He also played with and produced two cds for Kentucky Snakehandlers. In 2003 he recorded a cd of spontaneously composed instrumentals called DEPTH, playing all the instruments himself, including drums, bass, guitar, lap steel, pedal steel, dobro, piano, organ, and sitar. Caleb has been recording on home studio equipment since he was 17, and to date has twelve albums worth of original songs archived on tape and cd.

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4
Good to have you as a friend! So great to see the internet in action this way, shortening distances between people.
I hope all's well with you and that you enjoy checking out my web site some time.

You're right, it's already slated to be included on a sort of "catch-all" Lewi comp I'm working on. I also am looking to get the band into a dingy house studio to record 4 songs to tape, to be released on a vinyl 7". We've got a handful of songs that'd work best like that, I think... ("Save Yourself", a redo of "Voluntary Martyr").
A beautiful borrowed '64, begged in the need of immaculate tone for the "On the Beach" set. Sounded just like the disc, I thought. The vibe just poured out of that guitar that night.
Got the CD. Good stuff. Been playing it in the car and everyone who's been with me has asked who it was. Have been told you sounded like Modest Mouse, Neil Young and the Verve. Oh yeah and kind of like the Gorrilaz on Dinosars. Anyway, I love it. Especially like the war song and When I Rise. Very diverse sounds. Thanks.
Hope all is groovy in your neck of the woods. Here in the US it's all about elections "don't ya know" do they say that up there? LOL
Hey Caleb! i love the new tunes! I'm glad to see you are utilizing our new links too! HaHa.
Is that a real mellotron on Poor Little Bird?
If you want to check out some stuff I have been participating in semi-recently go to www. myspace. com/benjaminfranklinfreeman. I am playing lead guitar on Automatic Baby and Consensual Frank (I'm not on the other tracks). Also, Welsh Rabbit has a couple videos on youtube, just search on Welsh Rabbit, the songs are "Today" and "Failed".
I hope your doing well. Again, have been groovin' on your new stuff all morning here at work. Nostalgia...
how's it going. Stopped by your site to catch your new tunes. "When I rise" really touched me. Had a dream about Randy last night and didn't want to get up. It's been almost a year since he left this realm. Anyway, you inspired me to call Cabin, too. Haven't seen him much. might take a trip to Sabinal tonight. Great music on your player. be the love ~ teresa
