About Caledonia Jazzband

Oh, those infectious sounds from New Orleans...
From the urging music of early marching bands, Bunk Johnson, Sweet Emma and the Humphrey Brothers to the funky rhythms of Professor Longhair, James Booker and the Meters!

Caledonia Jazzband began in 1982, and set out for a musical pilgrimage in 1983, playing at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival with singer Aline White and trumpeter Wallace Davenport. More trips to New Orleans followed, and Caledonia collaborated with trumpeter Wendell Brunious, documented on two recordings, "Moods of New Orleans" and "Walkin.'" In their 25 years of existence, Caledonia Jazzband had played major festivals, made several outstanding records and continously dedicated them selves to those beautiful sounds og New Orleans.
