Ya con casi 2 años de experiencia en su repertorio y a punto de lanzar un nuevo disco, Calendar sigue tocando, creando y disfrutando como si fuera el primer día.
Creado en el 2006 bajo el nombre The Chínese Calendar, la banda se forma en búsqueda de explorar territorios nuevos, diferentes a los de sus bandas antiguas. Los resultados fueron algo nuevo e interesante en la escena del rock dominicano, ligando armonias del pop/rock con la energía del rock puro y el indie rock. Con Daniel González en guitarras/segunda voces en la alineación, los chicos tuvieron un año debut excelente, que incluyo ganar la segunda edición del Messenger Mag Music Fest y obtener sus canciones en los primeros lugares de las emisoras locales especializadas. En marzo del 2008, lanzaron su primer EP digital ....Come On In.... distribuido totalmente gratis en su pagina thechinesecalendarband.com. ....Fue la forma de agradecer al publico por todo el apoyo que nos dio en el año, y también formar parte del fenómeno global en la que esta la música hoy en día.... nos comenta la banda.
La segunda mitad del 2008 vio a los chicos pasando por varios cambios. Entra el ya experimentado Radi Pina en guitarras/segundo vocal a la banda y se deciden a cambiar su nombre a Calendar. ....Él cambio de nombre muestra la madurez de la banda, hemos cambiado mucho desde la creación de Come On In.... nos menciona Jochy, vocalista de la banda.
Recientemente han lanzado el primer sencillo, Rayas Rojas, de su nuevo disco todavía sin titulo. La banda nos dice: ....Escogimos a Rayas Rojas como el primer sencillo de lo nuevo porque muestra completamente la madurez musical del grupo, pero todavía con la misma esencia con la que nos hemos caracterizado, y de eso se trata este nuevo disco..... Calendar tiene previsto lanzar el nuevo material para finales del 2008.

With almost 2 years of experience under their belts and getting ready to put out a new record, Calendar keeps on playing, writing and enjoying music as if it were the first day.
Created in 2006 under the name The Chinese Calendar, the band formed in search of exploring new territories, different from their previous bands. The results were something new and interesting in the Dominican rock scene, mixing pop/rock harmonies with pure rock and indie rock energy. With Daniel Gonzalez on guits/backing vocals in the lineup, the boys had an excellent debut year that included winning the second annual Messenger Mag Music Fest and their songs reaching the top spots on local rock stations. In March 2008, they released their debut digital EP ....Come On In.... distributed for free at thechinesecalendarband.com. ....It was our way of saying thanks to all the people that supported us during the year and at the same time be part of the global phenomenon that the music world is going through.... the band tells us.
The second half of 2008 saw the band go through various changes. The band welcomed the experienced Radi Pina on guits/backing vocals and they decided to shorten the name to Calendar. ....The name change shows the level of maturity in the band right now, we’ve changed so much since the writing process of Come On In.... Jochy tells us.
Recently, Calendar has released a new single, Rayas Rojas, off the yet untitled new record. The bands says: ....We picked Rayas Rojas as lead off for the new record because it shows our new found maturity completely, but with the same essence that has characterized us always, and that’s what the new record is all about..... Calendar will release the new record in the last quarter of 2008.
