C A L I S T O

C A L I S T O began to take shape late in 2006, when Pete and Jodie - already members of soul band Midnight Train - started toying with the idea of putting together an acoustic duo.

Originally the plan was to put together a set of acoustic covers, using primarily "non acoustic" material - covers you don't hear every day. However, as with all these great intentions, plans were soon scuppered by the realisation that at least one of the two members of this band could write a bloody good song when the muse was upon her.

After pouring over old tapes and dodgy recordings from days gone by, the pair started work on breathing new life into these dusty projects. Springboarding from Jodie's inate sense of lyricism, and uncanny ear for a beautiful melody, Pete set about creating the sonic landscapes which would form the backdrop to the trials and tribulations of Jodie's lyrical world.

Neither Pete nor Jodie had had any real studio experience previously, so by a process of experimentation, trial and error, and the slow creation of a PC based recording set-up in Pete's palacious 17th Century coach house home*, the offerings they put before you were, well, re-born.

C A L I S T O sincerely hopes you enjoy what you hear: and please, if you do, shout it from the very rooftops - because to be honest, C A L I S T O are largely making it up as they go along, and the ocassional pointer in the right direction is never a bad thing!
