Hailing from Springfield, Ohio, Callahan has quickly caught the attention of the music industry. Callahan is an energetic band from Springfield Ohio who strives to separate themselves from the standard formula of pop-punk. Friends since childhood drummer Wes Comer, guitarist Brad Comer, and bassist Jake Sims imagined a band that would stand out from all the rest and last long enough to make an impact on the music scene. When vocalist Ryan Clay joined the band it was a perfect match and they immediately meshed together a unique blend of genres. They hit the studio to record their first EP "The Calm Before the Storm" the album laid the groundwork and fan base for the highly anticipated followed up their second EP entitled Face the Day, which was recorded produced by Joey Sturgis( The Devil Wears Prada, Attack Attack!, Let's Get It). The album received praise and positive reviews from the music industry, from places such as, The Daily Chorus, Absolute Punk, Purevolume, Alternative Press Magazine, Substream Magazine, Fearless Radio, and have managed on several occasions to be the 1 unsigned band in the country according to the Purevolume charts. The album is still a top seller at Smartpunk.com, and the band has managed to get their cd and merchandise into Hot Topic stores.
The momentum and buzz from their EP "Face The Day", lead the band to constant touring and allowed them to gain a dedicated and loyal fan base around the country. Callahan's live show is equally as impressive as their latest release, the guys in Callahan draw over 500+ kids to their hometown shows and the band continues to tour full time in support of the latest release.
Callahan's highly anticipated follow up to "Face The Day" will be released on August 24, 2009. The new album "Summer Sampler" shows the bands growth as musicians, but still manages to keep the sound that their fans have come to know and love. Callahan is ready to take the industry by storm with their newest release, their drive to make it is only matched by their strong work ethic and they are determined to make a splash in the industry and become the next big thing!
