.. .. .. .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .. .... .. ...... Since the band’s inception in 2007, Callista has gradually assembled through the chance encounters of five like-minded musicians who were entirely connected by fate. .... Growing up, each of the band members were rooted with a discipline for learning music, through classical training and nonstop practice. Evan Jarrell and Jay Mushinskie first began writing and playing music together at Cabrillo High School in 2006. A year later, Mike Socias joined the band as the bass player followed by Mark Pruett on keyboards in 2009. To complete the group, in 2010 their friend Jonathan Withem joined as drummer. .... Towards the end of 2009, Callista began working with renowned producer Stephen Short (Augustana, Camera Can't Lie). This became a turning point in the band's commitment to excellence and success. They immediately started the process of writing and developing new songs in pursuit of a professional career in the music industry. By 2010, the band recorded their first album, self-titled “Callista - EP”, at Sonic Ranch Studios in Texas. .... Entangled in symmetry, each member brings diverse playing styles to the group. Standing apart from their local music scene, Callista offer a fresh stylethat is latching on with their young and diverse fanbase. “We don’t really fit-in our local scene”, says lead-singer Jarrell. The same could be said about the theme of their new album. Trying to deal with not “fitting - in”, whether in the middle of relationships or other aspects of life, is something that many of their fans seem to be connecting with. .... Being influenced by indie bands such as Mae, Copeland, and Death Cab For Cutie, Callista combine a dose of inspiration along with their one-of-a-kind central coast flavor of alternative rock to bring forward a spiral of edgy yet appealing sound. .... Experiencing happiness and hardships has provided a vision for Callista when writing the material off of their latest release. The band plan to continue touring and expanding upon their solid fanbase on the west coast. They have all been brought together by a mutual passion for music and performance, and there is nothing they enjoy more than sharing that passion with those around them. Staying true to the meaning of their name, Callista hope to deliver some of the most beautiful music in their own distinctive disposition. ........ .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .. ...... .. .... .......... .......... .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ......follow Callista at http://twitter.com.... .. ...... ......
