New York born, recording artist Javi (short for Javier) grew up immersed in a musical environment. Since birth Javi has heard tales of his father-a gifted latin percussionist-gracing the stage of Madison Square Garden, playing the legendary Thriller in Manilla, and even logging studio time with DFA records co-founder, Tim Goldsworthy. With the bar set very high for him, Javi strives to be equally eclectic and prolific in his musical endeavors. He has sang for the likes of President Clinton and Seinfeld creator Larry David. He sells out venues in NYC's lower east-side while fronting his funky-pop rock band “Wildcard”, he provides session vocals for the likes of Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit, writes songs for other emerging vocal talents, and creates vintage-tinged R&B/disco-house tracks under his Native Underground project with veteran NYC DJ, Son of Sound. His singular goal is omnipresence. He wants to lend his vocal and songwriting styles to many genres of music, to reach different audiences ranging from ny hipster disco-philes who love everything Pitchfork & DFA, to euro dance/house fanatics who get down to the Swedish House Mafia, to those who love the funky sounds of early Incubus & Minus the Bear, and of course people who love the live for dance pop gracing the international radio waves.
