Wingman has born. It's the musical part of a young man called André Tentugal, also known as the Neutral Reporter, who in another hand brings to life visual arts in the form of videos or photographs. He has worked visually with musical projects such as X-Wife, Mind da Gap, Sizo, The Weatherman, Old Jerusalem, Sandy Kilpatrick... He created his own sense of esthetic style and a visual personality. Musically, in the last few years he's know for sharing stages musicians such as The Weatherman, Sandy Kilpatrick, LittleFriend or Old Jerusalem. Now he found a need to give space to his own music and go on the road sharing them with everyone that crosses the path.
"Film, music and photography all blend into one thing in the world of Neutral Reporter (Wingman). A guitar is slowly picked, a melodica drifts in the background; we hear footsteps walk across a room. This could be a scene from a film. With natural light beaming through a window, shadowing the face of the guitarist, this could be a photograph, a portrait of the hope and joy of the morning. For now, though, we just have the songs, soundtracks to the dreams of Wingman; I see a girl in a field, the wind howling leaves into the air. I see a group of friends on a boat, drifting and bobbing out to sea, the sound of laughter, the feeling of wonder. This is the sound of the imagination being set free, a reach towards innocence and the new-flowering hope of spring.
This is music born of the freedom to dream, soundtracks to the joy of playing guitar itself, to the happiness of invention. It’s light. It makes you feel happy, good; reflective. But because it makes you feel good, don’t think that it doesn’t have depth. It has all the depth of the daydreams it unleashes in your head.
Neutral Reporter (Wingman) may make film, take photos or play music, but it all boils down to one thing; being engaged with the world in all of its glory; living and loving deeply, and feeling free to do so." [by Sandy Kilpatrick]
