Calpurnia is a four-piece rock & roll outfit hailing from Richmond, VA. The band focuses on original music with a sound reminiscent of The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Black Keys, Stone Temple Pilots, and Oasis.
The sounds of Calpurnia are rooted in the innovations of rock and roll’s past. The most recent effort is a four track disc entitled Glitz, Garters & A Dribble of Youth. Our music is a combination of blues rhythms and expansive rock melodies combined with modern hooks and grit. Every track re-asserts what music really does for people: it communicates love, heartbreak, and justice with power and sincerity.

Wow, all i can say is that I'm glad the CD release show was my first show...because it was amazing! Seeing yall play live and at a venue instead of at the practice spot was mind-blowing...it has honestly inspired me to back you guys up with all my being. haha i used to tell people when they asked what Calpurnia sounds like, that they sound like a mix between Oasis and Stone Temple Pilots...but after really hearing you guys play...yall are what you are and that is what it is...i find myself unable to compare you anymore and you have therefore far-gone my expectations of Calpurnia, and are now in your own realm...enjoy it boys.

keeping way way too busy, i feel like have not picked up a guitar since we played at the curry house... good luck with the cd release show, unfortunately i will be working in williamsburg that night and won't be able to make it out, but i know you guys will own. will you all be heading to stone lucy's show at the national saturday night?
