Hey! So when I first met you I didn't think that you would ever remember me, because you see and talk to a lot of youth. This weekend when you said that you had been looking for me, and you knew me right when you saw me, it made me feel good. I am so glad that you have kept in touch, and that you are speaking. You have helped me more then you know. I recently had to take prep classes for math when I started college, and when I found out, I cried because I didn't understand how I could graduate high school and not know what I am doing. But I started over the summer, and when classes started in August I found out that most of the students that I had graduated with were now in the class that I had just taken over the summer. I think that if I didnt know you and know about your story, that maybe I would have given up. I then realized that you have done so much with your life, and you didn't have all the people behind you that I do have. I want you to know that I look up to you in so many ways. You have changed my life, and I thank you for that, from the bottom of my heart.

I started reading your book the minute you handed it to me and I have yet to drop it lol thank you! I have a confession to make I don't read that much and I'm ashamed to say that out loud but I'm kicking that habit and starting with your book. It was a blessing to meet you Dr. Mackie! You opened the eyes of CISD....they needed to know the truth! I'm a graduated of North Crowley and too many times I was the child who needed that extra help but didn't get it....It seemed as if some teachers are there to just receive a pay check and your right they should leave...and since I work for the school district now I hear these things and its sad. I love my job! and its about the children...and I want to be that one person to impact their life's.
