Sounds Like
Some contemporary jazz sounds reminiscent of early 70's and mid 80's like Herbie Hancock, Roy Ayers, Pleasure and others. Some tracks sound like the music from 1980's sound track to movies like Beverly Hills Cops....
It could be said that the sound is like some fusion mixed with R&B mixed with rock. There is definitely old school in the mix. Some jazz and a dab of country - even some stuff that may pass for World music.
What you take from the music will be different from what others hear. So, if you have to put a label on it - it would have to be "Music" pure and simple.
Sounds like fun and a little bit of everything and everybody. . . give it a listen - you decide who or what it sounds like - cool? Cool.

Calvin Mark Smith composes, arranges and plays in many different genres from R&B and Soul, to Jazz and Pop, to Fusion and Rock, to Country and even a dab of World. A native New Englander, he has always been involved in some aspect of music throughout his life. While primarily a drummer and percussionist, he has broadened his musical ability by striving to understand various instruments to enhance his musical expressions through songwriting and arranging. While not a formally trained musician, Calvin's grasp of music stems from a natural affinity and makes his sound almost organic in the feel of it. Pretentious? Yes, but just listen to his debut CD, "Feelings, Thoughts and Visions," which he composed, produced and arranged himself and experience it for yourself.
PERSONAL NOTE FROM CALVIN:
I'd like to thank my loving wife and beautiful children for their love, support and patience in my endeavors.

The summer will see the group doing a 'Southern Tour' with DENIECE WILLIAMS.
