Interests

  • General

    Books. And books.
  • Music

So much to love. But here's the ever-evolving list of what we're digging on recently:
    American Music Club
    Calexico
    Neko Case
    Cat Power
    Paolo Conte
    Cowboy Junkies
    Miles Davis
    Nick Drake
    Tim Easton
    Feist
    Ella Fitzgerald
    Rebecca Gates
    Billie Holiday
    Jessica Hoop
    Mississippi John Hurt
    Iron and Wine
    Amos Lee
    Joanna Newsom
    Grant-Lee Phillips
    Radiohead
    She and Him
    Elliot Smith
    Nina Simone
    Twilight Singers
    Tom Waits
    Muddy Waters
    Wilco
    Lucinda Williams
We're all music lovers here. We have many other favorites that perhaps aren't so suitable for the mellowness of a bookstore.
  • Movies

We love 'em. But tend to avoid those adapted from books because the book is always better.
  • Television

BookTV. And public radio. In particular, THIS AMERICAN LIFE.
  • Books

The ones with pages. Really, just too many to list because the four of us have quite varied tastes. But we love to give recommendations and the shelves are filled with recommendation/review cards. But because I own the store, I get to say that Margaret Atwood is about my favorite living author. For the dead folks, I like Flaubert, Hemingway and Yates.
  • Heroes

    Writers
    Readers
    Poets
    Artists
    ArtLovers
    Philosophers
    Inquisitives
    FreeThinkers
Anyone who has the courage to at least try to walk their own path ...
    People who perform random acts of kindness ... .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
