Rickey Wilson, proprietor of Rickey’s Car Stereo & Customs, understands that it take’s a village to raise a child. A few years back, he became convinced that the village was sick! To help the children of New Orleans, we must repair the Village and create a new, healthy nest for them. Rickey’s Save the Youth Team is a citywide non-government not for profit organization with a focus on community and family development to help AT RISK youth grow to their full potential, with a focus on prevention of drug misuse and the promotion of health and well-being of young people. Rickey’s Save the Youth Team takes a creative approach to issues such as education and neighborhood improvement, economic development, youth development, community problem-solving, assistance to disadvantaged people, and cultural enrichment.

Mary	May 11 2009 5:16 AM Mothers and daughters; what greater love can one find, than the love a mother gives. I am blessed to have had a truly WONDERFUL mother and grandmother. My memories of growing up are ‘truly special,’ as my mother and I had such a close relationship. I remember, even as a small child, always looking into my mother’s eyes and seeing unconditional love. I knew if I was in her arms, or just talked to her, all my fears and pain would fade away…like a ‘magical potion’ had erased any hurt the world could give. I always thought my mother was the ‘most beautiful’ woman I have ‘ever’ known, both inside and out. My mother was a wonderful artist, and we spent many hours sitting and drawing together, even when I was an adult. We could talk about everything and anything…as we shared in a ‘VERY SPECIAL BOND,’ as understood one another. The words of wisdom she imparted have remained with me to this day. For she ‘always’ advised me what she ‘knew’ to be best, as no one has ever known me as well. TODAY is a day to celebrate mothers…so if you are far away, or if you had an arguments, don’t let that keep you from doing something ‘special’ for her, as the time you have with her is short…and you may never get another opportunity to tell her, “HOW MUCH YOU LOVE HER!” My mother passed away 23 years ago…and I wish today, I could tell her just HOW MUCH LOVE I will ALWAYS hold in my heart for her…. GO CELEBRATE MOTHERS TODAY…. HUGS, Mary

It was a complete success. Thank you to all all the performers rockin the stage, ANI Aint Nothing Iller brought the house down with their high energy performance. Check em out at CLICK HERE . Thank you to the KANY 2009 crew for putting together an amazing show. Feedback from attendees on how we made history in Uptown, Chi-City, the Midwest, and the Cambodian American Community; breaking stereo types about Cambodian how we are just rowdy people who gets drunk and gets into fights and still gave the people a wonderful time.
