UNTITLED BLUES PART I & II 7" ON THE GREAT POP SUPPLEMENT
"Cam Deas has released some top records on Blackest Rainbow, Dirty Demos, Dead Pilot etc. and here's his newie on The Great Pop Supplement. It's a 7" which is limited 300 copies only all hand numbered in an art booklet style 7" foldover sleeve thing (looks lovely!) It's quite different to his previous releases. Yeah he's still playing a guitar but it's more more raw and primal sounding. It starts off reasonably sedate with some tuneful yet discordantly brooding slow playing before it goes all nuts and mental in the middle. Almost knocked me off me chair it did. It's a while since I've heard that much passion on a record. It doesn't sound like it but it really really reminds of the passion you'd get in traditional flamenco which if you've ever seen a proper non touristy flamenco performance I'm sure you'll have been moved to some sort of goose pimpled state. This is some powerful intense shit and it's one of the best 'one man and his guitar' performances I've heard in ages. Untitled 1 and 2 is spread across 2 sides of a 7" and if you're into that whole Fahey, Basho, Jack Rose thing you'll poop your pants when the needle hits the record. Breathtaking!" Norman Records
CAM DEAS/SPOONO SPLIT TOUR LP ON BLACKEST RAINBOW RECORDS
"That Cameron Deas chappie returns with another vinyl outing on our favorite Sheffield outer reaches label Blackest Rainbow. This baby is a split with Spoono AKA Jack Allett who I think is from Camberwell in London. Cam's side is more of that scintillating James Blackshaw-esque quickfire picking that should also appeal heavily to fans of Sir Richard Bishop & John Fahey. His style isn't quite as pin sharp & clean as Blackshaw's, a little rawer & expressive but just as breathtaking. The first of two tracks 'Frozen Lakes & Icy Leaves' is a blinding epic of dramatic highs & lows. The second untitled piece is a brief track comprised of pesky blurting electronics & interference, like an amp and a fusebox having a hissy fit in an empty studio. Spoono's side resides in or around the chapel of our friend Jack Rose, his 3 metronomic jangling compositions sending huge shivers of delight up our spines, a truly gifted guitarist with fingers to worship (he sounds like he may have about 26 of them judging by these wild pieces!!) This "tour" split LP features a unique old postcard from around these hallowed isles, giving each record it's own identity & purpose. I like the Cam Deas side a great deal but i'm bowled over by Spoono, his tracks are to die for! Wonderful grooves...." Norman Records

Grouper (US) has her latest – Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill – of three albums on Type Records. She has also been involved in collaborative releases, contributing a track to Xiu Xiu’s Remixed & Covered and four tracks to a split release with Inca Ore. Her other contemporaries are Belong, Growing, Tim Hecker, Windy & Carl and Atlas Sound.
Jasper TX (Sweden), with a hefty back-catalogue of releases on labels such as Miasmah, and collaborations with buddy Machinefabriek, is an essential domestic appliance in the household of conceptual music. He is comparable to artists Fennesz, Sigur Ros, Múm and Tape.
Intricate and atmospheric songsmith, Danny Saul (UK) performs with different combinations of musicians, making each gig a unique event. His forthcoming release is "Harsh, Final", and he also performs with Greg Haines as Liondialer.
Fieldhead (UK) music delights in tape hiss, bleak landscapes and decaying analogue loops. He is also a member of The Declining Winter and Glissando. His debut album, "They Shook Hands for Hours" is released soon on Home Assembly.
This is the first set from the slightly tweaked Beach Fuzz line-up with Fliss Horrocks now playing guitar alongside Tom Settle and Nick Mitchell. Seven tracks of clattering drums, chugging and wailing guitars, screaming keyboards, mellow, lilting pastoral improv and moaned vocals.

Recorded at The Bowling Green pub in Manchester on 17th November 2008, when Bridget was on tour with Marcia Bassett, this is a maximal 25-minute set of epic guitar brutalising and deep, moaned vocal incantations. Employing a bow and 'metal' effects pedals, the resulting cacophony is orchestral in scope, rendering almost unreliable the memory of one woman and her instrument. Somewhat akin to Bassett's duo with Matthew Bower, Hototogisu, the deeply layered tones created by Hayden offer, upon first exposure, a somewhat icy auditory experience, but as the recording settles in, the richness and sheer breadth of sound wraps around you like a feather quilt and shifts your perception almost 180 degrees. A truly magnificent set from this former Vibracathedral Orchestra member.

Trespassers William (Seattle, US) are the duo of Matt Brown and Anna-Lynne Williams. "Subliminally sublime and pragmatically perfect, you would have to possess an ashtray for a heart not to feel this coursing through your soul" (DSD Music Magazine). A new EP, The Natural Order of Things, is set to be released on Gizeh Records. They will make a church performance with special guests.
Glissando (Sheffield, UK) “have the kind of atmosphere that can captivate and relax in equal measure- never before has tranquillity sounded so urgent. While track lengths of over 10 minutes may fail to hold the attention of the ADHD sufferers among us, with patience it plays like a majestic dream. And it's one you'll never want to wake up from." NME
Operations (Chris Anderson) is a Manchester based conceptual music producer and sound artist. He performs and records with an array of analog synths and effects, reel-to-reel tape and casette players, and guitars. Followers of Tim Hecker, Slowdive, Fennesz, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Stephen O'Malley, Type and 12K Records will surely nod in approval.
A twelve track, 22 minute sound art project, that is quite a departure from usual Operations material, dipping into the realms of glitch and noise using broken keyboards, effects boxes and oscillators and digital editing.
Self-released and strictly limited to 30 copies for the whole world. Once it's sold out it sold out for good.
