  • General

    I'm loving being a Mom. I love digital scrapbooking and photography. Basically anything to do with pictures. I also really enjoy film editing. (Sony Vegas!!!) I love to travel, but have only been as far as Europe. One day I will have my own villa in Italy. Ahhh Italy! Such a beautiful place!

  • Music

    I like a wide variety of music, really. But esp alternative/rock. I love 3 Doors Down... Weezer... Dashboard Confessional... Breaking Benjamin ... Nickelback... etc. Has anyone heard of the XBox Game, Advent Rising? It has the BEST soundtrack music... its BEAUTIFUL!!! My all-time favorite song is by Nickelback... its called "If Everyone Cared". I am also a big Chris Daughtry fan... every since he sang Hemmorage better than Fuel, so much better that Fuel asked him to join their band!!! Man he's good!

  • Movies

    Oh my... I love movies! I'm collecting a library of movies for my kids. In fact, I have so many that I love so much, that I could never choose a favorite. Hmmm... I am a Star Wars fan, Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Indiana Jones, all of the good trilogies and sagas. I like comedies, classics, chick flicks, action, almost anything with a good original story. I love Disney, Dreamworks and Pixar... esp Pixar's Short Films. (shout out to my old friend Jeremiah Stark)

    I also happen to be a bit of a soccer fan. I hope that Corwin and will want to play one day. When we move back to Texas, Jake wants to coach Jasper's Soccer Team. When we were visiting back in August 05... we went to one of his brother's games. Their coach didn't want to be the coach... so he quit on the team and went to sit in the bleachers. Jake started shouting from behind the sidelines, calls to help Erik.... then to some of the other guys. Before we knew it, the team was asking him for help! By the end of the game, one of the Mom's asked Jake to be their new coach... had we lived there, I think he might have! He played soccer all through HS and LOVED it! His dad used to coach soccer as well, so maybe it will continue to run in the family!

    Of all the big sports I prefer to watch... Soccer and Basketball are my fav's. I love soccer and would love to learn how to play, but fear I may not be coordinated enough to do it well. Who knows? I do however, look forward to being a "Soccer Mom&Wife".

    Favorite sports to play... Volleyball and Basketball.
    Favorite Table Sports to play... Air Hockey, Fooseball, and Pool.

  • Television

    Hmmm... I have four favorite TV shows... all on DVD! Friends!! Charmed!!! Stargate (SG1 as well as Atlantis)!!! And Gilmore Girls!!! Also, I am growing more and more fond of certain Anime Series... such as: Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha, S-Cry-ed, Full Metal Alchemist, Bleach, Naruto, etc. A few new TV series look to be really funny... 'Til Death, and Happy Hour! OHHHHHH.... and Samantha Brown's Passport to Europe!!

  • Books

    Naturally, I'm not much of a reader... but my husband got me interested in a few science fantasy series... Amber Chronicles by Roger Zelazny and Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind. As well as the Halo trilogy.


     

  • Heroes

    My husband would have to me my hero. He takes such good care of me, and I know he will continue to be an excellent father. I don't know how he puts up with all the Marine Political Crap, but I admire him for it. He is a wonderful example to me... and makes me a better person everyday. Together, I know we can achieve all of our hopes and dreams. I love him very much and am looking forward to every minute of the rest of our lives together.

.. .. .. I have been married 4 years and going on 40... to my high school sweetheart, Jake. He served in the Marine Corps 2004-2008 and was stationed in California. So we got to live 5 minutes away from the beach! We have two sons, Corwin Jacob, born 04 Nov 2005; and Rowin Augustus, born 9th Feb 2007. And let me tell you, having a 2 year old and a 3 year old (15 months apart) is quite the fun challenge. But I wouldn't change it for anything in the world!

 
Jake was discharged from the Marine Corps this past January. So, we packed up and moved back home. We were living in Beaumont, and plan to move back soon... but Hurricane Ike ripped us a new one and we are temporarily living in Kirbyville until our apartment is fixed. It also caused Jake's job to downsize therefore "letting him go". So if he can't get on soon with WellTec, the we might go Air Force! Jake is still trying to start up his computer business. His new cooling system was such a sucess, that someone beat us to our patent... so we have made some major upgrades to it and still plan to pursue. So if anyone out there is interested in funding startup of a computer company... we are offering 20% yearly profit sharing in exchange for funding startup costs.

I LOVE being a Mom. Its truly the most exciting thing ever. I have so many plans for them as they grow up. Ways to make education fun, keeping them busy and out of trouble, and helping them find out early what they might want to do when they grow up. I want to give them as big of a headstart in life as I can.

In addition to my ever busy life as a wife and a mother of two beautiful boys, I am also a photographer. I shoot a little bit of everything, but I think I may want to specialize in Portraiture... I love the look on people's face when they see that they CAN take good pictures. (refer to My Photography Website)
 
 

Who I'd like to meet:

If given the chance to meet anyone, I'd like to meet some of my ancestors who have passed on; as well as Peter Jackson, Ansel Adams, Annie Leibovitz, Gordon B Hinckley, and a Spartan Woman (the epitome of strength).

About My Family:

Jake and I have been together since Dec of 2002. We got married 16 Oct 2004. And moved to California while Jake served in the United States Marine Corps. While there, Corwin joined us 4 Nov 2005; and Rowin joined us 9 Feb 2007. We moved to Beaumont, Tx after Jake's Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps. However, due to Hurricane Ike, we are currently living in Kirbyville, Tx.

  Corwin is my firstborn. He will turn 2 years old this Nov 4th. He can now walk and run all around. When he used to crawl, he prefered the 'low crawl' aka 'army crawl'... which fellow Marines couldn't get enough of! He is very intuitive, and observes everything! He watches you constantly and can mimic just about anything you do. [talk about watching your every move!]
  His first word was "mama"... and how long ago that seems. Now that we are amongst so many friends and family... he can repeat just about anything you say and just takes everything in. I swear that kid overclocks his processor!!!! Plus he's been potty training, and can say "poo poo", "pee pee" and "potty" when he needs to go.
  He really has quite the temper... I'd say now that he has OFFICIALLY hit his TERRIBLE TWO's. He's independant and defiant. He's smart and tries to do what all the adults are doing. He's still obsessed with 'hats' esp his Dad's. He'll get it and put it on backwards (never forward) and runs all around knowing he's being cute or "a cool dude".
  Corwin also has a true love of electronics. Any cord he can reach, DVD, remote control, gaming controller, and ESPECIALLY... phones! If there is a phone in his reach, where ever it is, he will find it and call somebody. Somehow, he almost always manages to find one of his grandparents numbers! Trips me out, really! When he was a baby, he loved phones so much, he chewed all over my old cell phone with his first two little bottom teeth... so I had to replace it due to "druel damage"! I think he's up to like, 10 teeth now. He now has his four front bottom teeth AND FOUR front top teeth!!! He has all four of his back top and bottom teeth, and is currently cutting his vampire teeth... still! They are kicking his butt, too! He runs fevers all the time and gets all whiney and feeling bad. I feel so sorry for the little guy.
  As for food, he eats what we eat - unless it's something too spicy or tough for him - then he eats something like mac-n-cheese or something like that; his favorite snacks are pop tarts, pb cheese crackers, or raisons, etc. He usually has a sippy cup of juice once to twice a day, Sunny D, Gatoraide, Milk, and we try to get him to drink water but he doesn't take to it too well!
  Corwin is LOVING being a big brother... he gives kisses to Rowin all the time, esp if he sees Rowin crying. He will try to feed him his bottle, and pats his back. My favorite is when he tries to hold Rowin's hand! He loves to 'hug' Rowin all the time! And he is so sweet, he shares his BELOVED "Bunny" and "Manny" with his Brother. And every night before he goes to bed, he has to give "give brother loves". He can even say "Bro-er" and "Rone" for 'Rowin' (it used to be "Ro") Also before bed, Corwin says his own prayers. It is by far the cutest thing that he's ever done, EVER! I LOVE it... it is so precious and sweet. He blesses "Daddy at work" and "Bro-er" and "Mommy" and "Daddy at work". I love his prayers.
  Corwin is so much fun now that he's older and has such a silly and venturous personality. [I reccomend EVERYONE check out Popcorn Baby... (click here) i believe this was back in February '07!] I also LOVE his little DANCE!!! It is so awesome... he's a natural headbanger! And he moves to the beat... he LOVES music!

Corwin is a joy and brightly shining light in our lives.
And is such a blessing to us all.

  Rowin Augustus was born 9 Feb 2007, and was greeted the day after he came home by his Ema and Grampa, Aunt Katie and Uncle Sam. Two and a half weeks later, he got to drive all the way to Texas to meet his Nanna and PawPaw, Auntie (Taylor), Uncle Otis and Aunt Bean; as well as his Grandmama, Aunt Angela and Uncle Kurt, cousins Natalie and Tylor; and a whole bunch of very loved and loving friends and family. He got to be blessed by his father with all of his family there. He is concidered 'a miracle baby' for bringing all of his family together for the first time ever! United in Love.
  He is growing fast, which comes as no surprise being that he is a bottomless pit! I mean, this kid can put it away. He had a slow start after he was born, because he was enduced 3 weeks early (completely healthy and a whopping 7 lbs 10  1/2 oz) but all he wanted to do for the first few weeks was sleep... now he's made up for it. He already caught his first cold while we were in Texas in March [the source of all pollen]... once we got home, he got over it and was feeling GREAT! But now that we're back in Texas, he must have some pretty bad allergies, cuz the poor guy has had such a hard time!!!
  As his Pediatrician used to say, "he's a bruiser". He is so so solid! He weighs about as much as his big brother!! He can roll all around, and is beginning to crawl on his tummy, and rock back and forth on his hands and knees. He can sit on his own and has decent balance.
  Are you ready for this? He has BLUE EYES! His brother has brown, his Daddy has hazel-green, and his Mommy has hazel-brown. So where did they come from you ask? His PawPaw. He officially has his PawPaw's EYES and EARS! And boy, they are the truest most beautiful bright blue eyes I've ever seen.
  Unlike Corwin used to be, Rowin seems to be our water baby. He really enjoys playing in the bath, and now splashes the water all around. He doesn't even seem to mind getting water in his face!
  BIGGEST LATEST UPDATE..... Rowin's First Word... is ......"ma ma"!!!!!!!!!! It is so awesome to hear his little voice calling for me! Though it is weird to think that he is already starting to talk! I only wish that Jake could have been here for it. He won't get to come back down here until mid December. And we miss him so very very much. I just hope that Rowin holds his first steps for after Daddy's back!
  Rowin is a wonderful blessing to us and we are so happy to have two boys that are so close in age (15 months appart) and will get to grow up together getting into all kinds of mischeif and learn so much from each other together. I love them both so much and am looking forward to every day of teaching and raising them. See My Motherhood Webpage
