Cameron grew up with a wide range of music filling his life. He spent most of his younger years listening to classic and contemporary rock. From his early years Cameron found one of his favorite band today Third Eye Blind. When he started really developing his musicianship and guitar skills Cameron began playing and listening to Jazz, Acoustic, and Indie music. This music has all started to come out in the composition and writing of his original music.,
Who was Penmen?
Penmen was the first band Cameron was a member of. The band was started in 2003 with original members Nigel McClung (guitar/vocals), Ben Dulken (keyboard/vocals), Christian Casolary (drums), and Ian McClung (drums). Cameron was a guitarist in the band and co-wrote music with Nigel. They played a variety of concerts in the King Co. area. The band was dismembered in 2005.
Who was Budokan?
Budokan was another original band and side project formed by Cameron Hodges and Aaron Mortensen in 2004. They co-wrote music and lyrics as guitarists. Later the band added German drummer Jacob Meissner and sing Brian Byserdorf. The band recorded an original EP however no formal group or concerts were ever made.
Who was Affair With A Bear?
Affair With A Bear was Cameron’s first actively performing group formed in 2004. The band was started by Cameron and drummer Ryan Graves. Soon afterwards the band added bassist Troy Thompkins and singer Nick Mendez. AWAB played a regular shows in the King Co. and Seattle area. With an EP release later that year called Constant Melody (Download), the band’s fan base and popularity continued to grow. After a solid year of performing, writing, and becoming a tight group of guys, the band was dismembered due to a few members moving on to college and elsewhere.
Who was Moxie? What is Moxie?
By definition Moxie means to be able to face difficulty with spirit and courage. It was also an old pop drink made by sprite. Moxie the band was formally comprised of Cameron Hodges, Alex Woods, Ryan Graves and Brian Byersdorf. Brian left the band a few months into there playing, recording, and performing. This group wrote and played a variety of music based on the joint compositions of Cameron and Alex Woods. The band never formally broke up but was forced to stop playing together because each member went there separate directions. Keep an ear and an eye out because you never know when this band will reunite.
