About me: Thank you God for the love and guidance that You have given me...all of the blessings and lessons are true gifts. I am thankful for the opportunity to speak through dance and choreography and hope that I may continue on that journey.
I seek my stability in the quiet observation of change. When I look at my reflection I want to see growth smiling back at me :)
Camille A. Brown received her early dance training at both the Bernice Johnson and Carolyn Devore Dance Studios. This led to her acceptance by The High School of Performing Arts. She also attended The Ailey School on scholarship and completed her B.F.A. in Dance at the North Carolina School of the Arts. As a performer, Ms. Brown was a member of Evidence Dance Company, under the direction of Ronald K. Brown (2001-2007). During her time there, she had the opportunity to perform the lead role “Mother God” in the acclaimed Grace (1999) and was a dancer on the BET Jazz documentary of Brown’s Blueprint of a Lady: The Once and Future Life- a collaboration with Grammy nominated jazz vocalist Nnenna Freelon. As a guest artist, she performed with Roger C. Jeffrey, Matthew Rushing, Earl Mosely, Debbie Allen and Dancers, Nathan Trice, Hope L. Boykin, Bridget L. Moore, Echoes Dance Company, and at The Hispanic Heritage Awards. In April 2007, Ms. Brown performed with the cast of The Color Purple in the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS benefit performance with choreography by Darrell Grand Moultrie. She is also a dance model for Matthew Karas and has been featured in Dance Magazine, Marie Claire, Gesture Magazine(China), Expressions Dance (Italy) and Dance Spirit.

Her work has been commissioned by Hubbard Street II, Urban Bush Women, Reflections Dance Company, The Queens Museum of Art/Topaz Arts, Inc., Sidra Bell Dance, Earl Mosley’s Diversity of Dance, and The Ailey II. Other performance opportunities include showcases at Dance Theater Workshop, Central Park Summerstage, Dancenow Festival, Dixon Place, The International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference, and This Woman’s Work (which resulted in her being acknowledged in Dance Magazine’s 25 to Watch article). Ms. Brown also returned to NCSA, The Ailey School, and LaGuardia H.S. to set works on the students of these institutions and will begin creating works for NYU's Second Avenue Dance Company and Long Island University's Dance Department.
In December 2006, and to a sold out audience, Ms. Brown showcased her work at Joyce SoHo to which Rosalyn Sulcus of The New York Times observed her work as, “dramatically brilliant…physically exhilarating.”
